Honestly I'm fine with rules. People have proven time and again that they need boundaries. Kiwi Farms draws A LOT of attention to itself as a lolcow archival site with a more libertarian approach to speech and moderation. It is (and hopefully will continue to be) one of the few refuges for those of us who enjoyed the internet as it once was but we do need boundaries.
Tardwrangling /pol/ refugees and other assorted malcontents is an exercise in futility. Eventually toeing the line with fedposting (i.e. the "in Minecraft" plausible deniability) will convince some genetic dead-end to commit a very real atrocity. I'm no fan of censorship but Kiwi Farms is a very easy target for scapegoating. I guarantee you that the media and other moral busybodies would descend on this site if some retard like Elliot Roger or Randy Stair were to post their manifesto here before committing their crime. Even moreso if there was a site culture mired in extremism like 8chan.
Just to clarify, right wing thought, arguments, and humor aren't the issue with the /pol/ types, it's how vitriolic and extreme they are. How flippant and arrogant they are when told "lol calm down bro" or "cut that shit out" for posting some incendiary and legally questionable shit that could sink a site that Null has quite literally destroyed his finances, career prospects, and personal reputation to support.
I used to be a long time lurker on 8chan and saw its inevitable implosion after Christchurch. Too little oversight is what led to its demise. The people acting and joking like extremists attracted real ones who thought they were in good company. Once 8chan had a reputation as a spree killer factory it was quickly blacklisted and vanished. I'd rather not have Kiwi Farms suffer that fate.
I suppose all I would want for new limits would be transparency. No justification is needed as "fedposters and other vitiriolic shitposters could get the site nuked" is good enough.
Regarding A&N and Happenings, I don't know. Are we on strike two or three with them? If the fedposting issue doesn't get resolved and bans do nothing for dedicated Kekistani refugees then impartiality rules may be needed. A&N and Happenings should be news and current events aggregation boards, not right wing echo chambers. All echo chambers are bad, even if they do align with one's own beliefs. Those boards have had their chances to shape up or ship out and I don't think they've passed muster.
Failing new rules reforming them away from 8chan's path I would suggest excising them and being done with it. Kiwi Farms is ostensibly about lolcows, not politisperging. I would rather lose the news and punditry in favor of watching eccentric weirdos.
