So everyone had that one moment in your childhood where you’re a toddler and your parents dress you up with black face paint ,where it’s excusable since you’re a toddler. I wondered as a kid why my clown costume didn’t come with white makeup but now I realize I was the minstrel.

In the neighborhood I live. There are both people who would praise and people who would ridicule me for painting my face black. But most people would be interested in blackface paint anyways.

Wearing black face paint, huh?
Painting your face with black paint should give you a high rate of camouflage in dark areas.

When I was a kid, it was customary in my school (and it still is customary in all schools to this day, I think) to celebrate Argentina's Independence Day and other patriotic dates with special events.
All the teachers would organize short choreographies or plays with their students, and since it was all about recreating the colonial era of the country, the children would play the roles of important figures, rich people, peddlers, soldiers, etc. And of course, they would play the roles of indians and NEGROS.
Even if the kid was brown, to imitate the black skin the parents or teachers would use charcoal or a burnt piece of cork and smear it all over the kid's face. And so the kid was a NEGRO.
I have some kindergarten photos where I'm dressed as a "black lady", with my face full of charcoal and everything. You can imagine they don't do that shit anymore, the 90s were wild.
