His self insert is wearing a fedora.
Dude, youre, at least trying to be, an artist. Part of the magic of that is that you get to play god, build entire worlds and put whatever you want in them, you make up the rules! Its magic, beautiful.
So this dude is of course unimaginitive enough that his fantasy world is just this one. Same politics, same places, same people. He at least could have made himself anything, anything he aspired to be, a superhero, a firefighter, a loving friend, someone who does good deeds for the greater good and is selfless and beloved. Nope, dude makes his self insert fantasy character a literal loser. A smug, fedora wearing, selfish stuck up dick who's also a stereotypical neckbeard. The type of dude who is reviled, the type of dude where its an insult to be called that or associated with that, the type of dude who isnt allowed around children or within 100 yards of a school, dudes who are disgusting, who nobody likes, abbrasive and ugly, fat and unhygenic, a type of loser nobody wants to be, and those that are try not to be, or feel some deep-seeded shame and self-loathing and hatred for it. They arent cool, smarter than normies, or fashionable--theyre delusional, theyre unliked, unloved, untouchable, unemployable, live with their parents, theyre gonna die alone, as virgins, having wasted their life and never knowing love--every negative, bad social stereotype bundled up into a miserable little package. Sounds like a good idea for my self insert hero for my comic, right!?
He is escaping in some ways in his fantasy, though. In his fantasyland he's well-employed, educated witha 'good' degree, lives in a hipster city on his own and away from mom, people talk to him and he's even right sometimes!
