going to make a bulletpoint list of what I think is still wrong, mostly for functional reasons but some purely aesthetic. Will probably repeat a bunch of other peoples' posts, but fuck it it'll probably be easier to reference in a list like this

• contrast on the page selector is fucked, makes it hard to tell which page you're on. Old vs new:

• Default "forums" bar is still completely missing, this is really messing with my muscle memory. Requires that you scroll all the way to the top to return to the homepage. Old vs new:

• The entire second bar at the top of the page is missing, ruining the contrast between the header and the forum body and removing some functions. Old vs new:

Would really like the "new posts" and "members" buttons back especially. I don't know why there needs to be a third fucking "Watched Threads" button instead, I find it rather ridiculous.

• No option to upload images in any format other than .webp, making downloading them a monumental pain in the ass. I do appreciate how much faster it makes the site load, though. I just really want a toggle to "upload as original" or something.
• Every board now looks the same, without an icon (or with a very broken one) and without any special colored text. Purely an aesthetic thing, but it makes it very hard to tell the boards apart and I've noticed it's making me glaze over thread titles way more often. I'm certain you're fixing this one as we speak; I'm just including it here for posterity.

• There's too much white text everywhere. Forum numbers are too white:

• "Click to expand" and timestamps are too white, join dates are too white and make the subtitle hard to read:

• Image viewer is still a mess:

• Alerts still don't distinguish between quotes, mentions, and replies nobody mentions me enough to include mentions here but you get the idea:

• The new placement of the alert button still really sucks. It's where the old alert button used to be. Would much prefer if it and the style switcher exchanged places so that I don't keep clicking the style button on accident every time I want to go check my notifications. On the aesthetic front, the style switcher and search bar being whiter than the other two buttons sucks ass. Additionally, I would really appreciate if they all got to look like buttons again. It makes selecting the right button much easier.

• Give me back my gosh darn golden theme nool, it is essential for proper kiwiposting and I am dying a painful death without it. You brought back everything except it and kawaii. Repent for your sins and re-add both.

I'm glad that random.txt is back, though its placement is giving me a headache. It's so tiny and cramped. Give it a little box or a bar or something, make it stand out instead of blending into the background pls.


This post took half an hour to write so half of it is probably outdated. Sorry. Just in case it isn't, though, I'd appreciate if you worked on these things asap.

I just learned that stealth mode has a dark theme now. my wish came true hell yeah.

Edit:
Issues on mobile:
1) logo disappears and reappears at random due to random.txt
2) Long press on the sticker button just brings up the pop up options to go to new tab
3) Sometimes the posts get squished to the left side and there's a gap on the other side.

The sidebar menu on mobile is also eye-rape green with white text. Okay maybe not eye rape green, but it just sucks to look at because it's all solid green

It's just really bad for contrast, it makes it hard to read certain things and causes things to blend together. At least it does for me anyways.

If we are down to nit-picking can you just get rid of of the white kiwiflare page? It always pops off white on TOR browser but it's correctly in dark mode on BRAVE.

Edit: I duno of there was a bug in the old theme or what but the page renders on fast as fuck now on TOR browser.

Late to the dark theme absence issue, but I actually already used the light theme before (and for practically any website) as my eye sight turns into something like this when I read white text on a dark background for over one minute:

I see there is lots of sperging already so I’ll keep it short—yes, mobile is a bit fucky. Especially with older issues I’ve already had permeating into bigger issues, like tapping notifications. Before, it would take a tap, a refresh, and another tap. Now, it takes a tap, a refresh, an app close, and a prayer from god. It still works, but damn it’s annoying.
