Yet another repost. Also what the fuck is up with the first lady's straw?

For a comic that usually repeats the same punchline of either:
  • The bigoted asshole(s) deserves to be violently harmed over a microagression
  • The strawman says one thing, only to then be outed as a hypocrite
  • The over-the-top caricature of a deplorable person is actually a total loser
  • Something something thirst-trap
This is probably one of the lamest ways the writers chose to go about this topic. There's no punchline, there's no comeuppance, there's not even really a teaching moment to be had (looking at you preachy ICE comic). I was somewhat expecting the tweet to have additional replies from the creators to maybe offer their takes toward addressing the issue at hand, or even signal boosting online resources to address why some books are banned and how to access them, but nah. This is as surface-level as it gets, and the solution of "we need to talk about this..." just assumes that people will somehow change their perspectives if they just shut up and let someone educate them. Never mind the fact that the comic's replies are mostly progressives mindless spouting, "Conservatives/Christians are bad!"

I have wondered FOREVER what the hell that straw was and why it was connected to her earring. Turns out she's wearing one of these.

This whole thing is a motte and bailey fallacy, the motte (easy to defend position) being that people should learn about black history and past racism, and the bailey (controversial position) being that children should be taught that white people have irreversible original sin for things they didn't even do. In other words whenever someone criticizes the bailey they simply cry out, "you think we shouldn't learn about historical racism against black people?????" Progressives use this scheme fucking constantly. With everything.

- Apparently the mothers trying to get stupid books banned walk around in cowboy hats, bendy straws, and sports bras. The ignorant folk look a lot more fun than the characters these people normally draw.
- No I don't think we should talk about this, you're a deep sea blob creature sitting on a stack of books. That's deranged.
- Ordinarily I'd agree with the stupid skin fish about censorship, if it wasn't for the fact that these books didn't wind up in front of kids organically, they wound up there because of a relatively small cabal of obsessive freaks with an agenda who are hoping to yank people's children out from under them while they aren't looking.
Certain far left books aren't banned, it's just that in some semi-sane states like Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas they aren't allowed in school libraries.

I don't know why these people bother trying to be taken seriously, the only two points they ever seem to be able to effectively convey is "I like drawing cutesy things" and "I'm deeply sexually frustrated".

For context on what LassMouth is saying, there’s a little problem I’ve heard of in food service/waitering where whoever’s giving you your food might purposely get your order wrong because you were rude (or had the gall to follow a White People Trend), completely ignoring that sometimes, people get non dairy or gluten free because of a health issue. All of them don’t know (or worse, don’t care) that them being a brat could put someone in the hospital or even the morgue.
