Blood in my stool: should I get a colonoscopy or not?

So as part of a general checkup I got a full load of blood tests as well as a urine and stool sample taken.

I just got a call from the lab, and apparently a small amount of blood was found in my stool sample, and they want me to come and get a fucking colonoscopy to find where it's coming from.

I have 2 problems with this:

#1 they fucking suck. I had one about 20 years ago, when I was diagnosed with kidney stones. It wasn't so much the big wand stuck up my ass as much as that they blew air in to expand the colon and intestines. Imagine the worst belly cramps you've ever had then triple them. No exaggeration.

#2 I'm pretty sure I already know why there was blood, I was badly constipated in the first place the day I tried to take a sample, and my body was fighting me trying to take a shit on a piece of paper. I've no doubt I ripped my asshole a little passing the very dry hard nugget that I took the sample from.

On the other hand, it might not be that, and the alternative to a torn asshole is possibly cancer. But the odds are extremely high it's the former.

Would you go and get your asshole reamed and your colon blown up in my situation?

Honestly, tell your doctor about that specific difficulty with sample collection and ask if you can have a repeat test before everyone starts making big plans.

Then you can make a decision based on more accurate data.
