Minori is obviously commie-coded to the point of using "capitalist" as a derogative, but she seems perfectly content to operate under a market system as long as her workers get paid. And when a corpo executive tries to swindle free labour out of them, I think her response wouldn't be out of place in a "be me, live in Ancapistan" -greentext.

Modern entertainment has made me weary of on-the-nose humor like this, but Blue Archive still manages to make it funny somehow.

The Revolutionary Ivan Kupala event is one of the funniest satires of 20th century communist governments, it's so heavy-handed and obvious and yet so subtle at the same time.

Really looking forward to doing the past events after finishing the final chapter, especially as a lot of characters just show up and Sensei already knows them (probably worse case is Pandemonium society that doesn't get their own chapter but is a major player).

Pretty sure I reached the midgame, which is usually the best part of a gacha. There is no startgame struggle where you try to understand what fits and get somewhat meta, and no endgame where you only wait for the next meta units to instantly max out to get a few more percent efficient. But I am impressed with how much party setup can change, and how much things you can slowly chip away at.

Students better than the glorious leader Cherino get sent to No. 227 Special Class, and since nobody is better than the glorious leader Cherino, nobody gets sent to No. 227 Special Class!

the ire that the blue archive community draws from every corner of the internet will never stop being funny to me. It doesn't take much effort actually engaging with the fandom to know that everyone is in on the same jokes, and that the Uohh😭💢 shit is the ultimate gatekeeping tool. I'm happy to be in a community that gives a shit about the actual game and characters.

>create a school themed around angels
>British-themed to the point that they have a vaguely Irish separatist faction and their de facto government is called "Tea Party"
>create a school themed around demons
>German-themed, one of the students even drives a Tiger I tank

What did they mean by this?

Trinity and Gehenna are a rather fresh and nuanced take on the now tired trope of "achsually, angels are evil and demons are good." Trinity is clean and orderly, but also authoritarian and people are very quick to form mobs in response to a power vacuum. Gehenna is highly chaotic but this seems to stem from people valuing freedom and pursuit of happiness, rather than any kind of inherent maliciousness. Hot Springs Department is a legitimate terrorist organization though which is sad because their passion and talent could be made of great use in less destructive ways.

If you think the Hot Springs Department is bad, wait until you find out about the depraved and sadistic deeds of the Gourmet Research Society.

I never noticed it was British themed until this post. Koharu is wearing a bonnet (I think) which was apparently commonly worn to church by women in the UK in the 18th and 19th century. This will sound retarded, the ways the schools interact reminds me of Morrowind's great houses.

It's there but not exactly thrown in your face unless you noticed it. As Kivotos Strongest Sensei said, most of the Trinity NPCs and the playable students from it uses weapons from the British isles, then the Trinity's school council group is called "Tea Party" and well, you kinda get the UK-like vibe from the backgrounds and the school area.

The only exception to this is the Church, which if I remember correctly was a different school altogether before joining Trinity, which is probably why they are seen with Israeli-made guns (Sakurako uses Tavor, Mari has a Desert Eagle, the NPCs uses Galil) and their ancestor the Justina Saints all uses weapons that would fit better for Red Winter (aka soviet stuff)

Another theme, this time in terms of characterization, that differentiates the two schools in an interesting way is that every Gehenner is up front and open about who they are, what you see and how they present themselves is pretty much what you get. On the other hand, a lot of Trinity students repress something about themselves and are more than meets the eye. Hasumi is very serious and no-nonsense but loses her mind whenever sweets are involved and is overly conscious of her weight. Hanako and Koharu are polar opposites, Hanako merely pretends to be a perverted retard but is actually a very intelligent girl, Koharu pretends to be chaste and an elite in every way but is dumb and perverted. Reisa is loud and boisterous and seems to want to be the center of attention but in reality she's a very awkward and lonely girl who just wants to make friends. Tsurugi looks more demonic than every Gehenner put together but in reality she's one of the sweetest and nicest characters outside of battle. Ichika puts on a front of being very easygoing but when she gets pissed off she becomes a complete demon.

It goes with the whole idea of Gehenna valuing freedom and Trinity being more uptight and authoritarian.

Hanako isn't pretending in being an overt pervert. Regarding her intelligence, it is less about pretending to be a retard and more about hiding her power level from others.
Tsurugi looks more demonic than every Gehenner put together but in reality she's one of the sweetest and nicest characters outside of battle.
Tsurugi is functionally a genuine demon that just happens to be one the "sweetest and nicest character outside of battle."

It's more embracing her perversions. With acting like a moron being due to realizing she doesn't want to deal with the faction autism of the school.

Kinda checks out with Israel being formerly British controlled. Mari having a Desert Eagle is pretty hilarious, hope she gets a combat oriented version that uses it.

I now want to binge what kind of gun every faction uses.

The blue archive's fandom wiki kept a detailed list. Generally most schools with clear national/country reference or aesthetics will focus on weapons based on said country, like Germans (Gehenners), British/Israelis (Trinity), Chinese (Shanhaijing), Soviet/Russians (Red Winter), and Japanese (Hyakkiyako), but there are some that didn't follow the national aesthetic, like say:

- Millennium, who prefers more modern to outright futuristic looking firearms (say, H&K G11 or Keltec RFB, even a railgun)
- Valkyrie, who is separated between general law enforcement style stuff (Kanna and the police), spec-ops tacticool gear (FOX Squad) and WW2 stuff from the Finns (Rabbit Squad)
- Highlander, who prefers anything wild-west, so going for stuff like Revolvers and Shotguns and not necessarily country-focused
- And then you have cases like Abydos and Arius, who probably only uses what they can get, so theme and aesthetic choice aren't the primary focus so long that it works

That said, it's not like they follow this bit 100%, though. There are Millennium students that uses low-tech firearms, and not all students from those school adhere to the country/national aesthetic that can be considered as plot reason (Azusa, for one) or just because they want to be quirky and different from the get-go.

i was surprised to see Rabu
This ties to a point raised earlier in this thread, everyone has (at least some) redeeming qualities.
Helmet Gangsters, up until that point, have ranged from petty criminals to "mercenaries working for the main villain" and arguably have been a constant thorn on the SCHALE/Sensei's side. Other "protagonist" -factions have also needed to deal with them. But when push comes to shove do the "delinquent students" take the easy option of taking advantage of the chaos (or even easier option to try and hide it out?) No, instead they form a Militia alongside the Sukeban girls to defend SCHALE building during a critical moment. (Unless this was somehow planned beforehand, SCHALE being left mostly unguarded like that is bit of a plothole.)

So far the only school that has every single student follow their theme in armament is Red Winter, with every single one of them wielding a Soviet or Warsaw Pact gun. When it comes to FOX Squad, their theming is around US special forces in the Iraq War, tho speaking of the RABBIT squad I have no idea why they gave Moe an obscure modern prototype pistol when the Lahti L-35 was right there to complete their WWII Finland theming.

Some clubs also have a bit of a theming, The Sisterhood has already been mentioned and they use Israeli weapons, then the Hyakkaryouran Council exclusively uses the Arisaka Type-38, which is even acknowledged in the lore and every rifle is painted blue. Though obviously they can customize it a bit with a few adornments, only Yukari's is plain and looks a bit worn but that's because she's the newest member while Nagusa has the one with the white lotuses drawn on it as it was the founder's weapon and it's passed down to each president.
