This is kind of a fun thread idea I've been thinking about for awhile actually. When I had a large room to set my game nights up in I had two large floor lamps. And when had the cash to buy modern light bulbs, I cheaped out and bought one LED bulb, and kept the old floursecent in the second lamp. One time a friend was over and said he hated the lamp with the flourescent. I was surprised, and when I asked him why he just said he didn't like yellow light.

That's stuck in my head a lot over the years because I experimented with different kinds of mood lighting over the years during game nights. After that era of my life ended the two kinds of lighting I've had defaulted to blue or yellow. I even noticed that manufacturers have started creating yellow LED light bulbs (called "warm lighting") . So clearly I'm not the only one who noticed this. Personally I find classic yellow lighting doesn't burn my retinas as much as blue light does, but then again I stare at a computer screen literally all day long.

I don't expect any huge insights into human nature on this one, I know if you pull out a spectrometer blue light is more intense and so forth, but I'm interested to see what people think. Has anyone replaced all the bulbs in their home with new blue LEDs? Did that affect your mood or personality at all? How dystopian does blue light make your home feel? I think its neat shit.

Blue light is harsher and can mess with your brain's REM sleep patterns, although some people aren't really affected by it. Case in point, me. Most of the lights in my former apartment were blue-white lights because I like the way it looks on white walls and black furniture.

Yellow is best for general home use because it isn't as harsh and brings a more relaxing feeling. Blue is best for when you're working on something and need to pay attention to detail, or need to photograph something.

They sell cheap strips of LED lights that use all three light colors and with a remote you can get 16 colors, including white.

What are you gay? Green or purple, obviously. Pfft amateur.

Neither... BLACKLIGHT! 😁

I am very keen on yellow light or warm light. I have a reading lamp that I went out of my way to get a nice warm light for that's exclusively used for reading books. It just feels much easier on the eyes and seems cozier so I tend to use them where possible, however it also looks dingy depending on the room it's in and what's going on.

If every lamp in your house isn't a controllable RGB then you're a gaping faggot and I want you dead.
