Almost half of black dads don't even live with their children, they aren't taking them to little league every day and talking to them about their problems. Fuck just walk into a supermarket and how many times do you see a black couple with their child? It's almost always just the mother, or even multiple women, no man to found.

I've seen this laughable claim before and it's undoubtedly from cherry picked studies that only study the habits of fathers that are actually around their kids.

This is up there with Tariq Nasheed claiming all of the crime in black neighborhoods is caused by white racists disguised as black people.

I have a fascination with junk science and statistics like this. I enjoy trying to puzzle out how --assuming the data isn't completely made up-- they've managed to come up with these figures.

In this case I'm assuming it's exactly what you're suggesting: the pool of black fathers present in their kid's lives is so small it means the bell curve is going to be much more severe than the significantly broader spectrum of white dads.

If that is the case it makes it even funnier that most of the percentages only vary by a couple points. 79% vs 71% isn't that impressive.

Funny thing I've noticed, as a lifelong Californian, is that there's two types of Black people here. You go into the metro areas and you find a lot of welfare queens/kings, irresponsible parents, slums, and lots of Black people who are very entitled and, well, stupid. Maybe not street stupid, but stupid. They are entrenched in their enclaves, only spend time with other black people and generally yeah, are pains in the ass.

Then, if you get OUT of the metro areas you meet black people who think that behavior is disgusting, have degrees and jobs and don't name their children J'a'queefah because they think those names are gross and low class. They usually hate the other type of black person and have friends of all ethnicities, backgrounds, etc.

Idk if this plays out in other states the same way, but the difference in personality is STARK and usually you can tell which one you're talking to within two seconds.
