I wonder how many of those users are scared they might've fucked up, that the driver was actually in the wrong and the agent acted in self-defense. If they see it and it clearly shows that (I haven't seen the video myself, but let's say hypothetically it does show that with absolute certainty,) then these people would have to admit that the ice agent was in the right, and the mob's outrage was unjustified. I think they could already suspect this might be the case. They're afraid because the thought that they're wrong is incompatible with their world view- these are the kind of people that view "bad" people as always wrong, and the people on the "good" side are always right. (That's why their "arguments" against other people is always 'youre a Nazi/transphobe/racist/etc.' They believe by being a quote unquote bad person, you're always wrong, and that's why name calling to them *is* a rebuke. The person the argument comes from is what determines its validity.)
Footage, objective reality, isn't something they can attempt to attack the credibility of by smearing with buzzwords, so it scares them.
