Bluesky - "Decentralized" Twitter Alternative. Leftist Tranny Hugbox. "Answer" to Elon Musk's "Fascist" Takeover of 𝕏 (Formerly Twitter).

It's truly impressive how they take something you could have a reasonable discussion on - "is this bill too punitive, does it infringe on rights?" - and instead they go completely off the rails and hyperventilate over their own made-up nonsense.

It's always put SO dramatically too, "they don't want trans people to exist", "they want to make us criminals for NEEDING TO PEE", "our ONLY OPTIONS are house arrest or poo poo pee pee rape and detransition dungeon". They don't realize that the most popular and successful political messaging was the OPPOSITE of this, where they said something like "we're just trying to live our lives in peace", because it made it very easy for normies to look at it and find it simple to agree with. Now, instead, it just takes one of these messages to strike someone as a bit exaggerated, make them question things a bit more, and go "oh wait this is all just made up shit".
The key is that Bluesky and other social media sites do not select for reasonable arguments, or workable comprise or solutions. They select for drama, outrage, and commitment to the Cause. Since that is what gets rewarded, the users begin to think that it is an accurate reflection of the truth.

Let me be perfectly clear: the goal is not to end racism, poverty, or any of the other moral sins that SJWs rail against. The goal is to clout chase and accrue more statue for yourself by being the Most Oppressed and Marginalized, because that is what social media incentivizes.

How many people here on the Farms had basically that same trajectory over the last decade? In like 2014, the worst cases were usually the Tumblr genderspecials, and the prevailing thought was "well these chicks are silly and attention-seeking, not like TRUE AND HONEST transgender* people!" Then it got pushed in the wake of gay marriage, nothing was good enough, Clown World adopted the Tumblr tucute** mentality of "you're trans if you say you're trans", and also troons rape at like 100x the rate of the general populace. Every news story is some balding 50 year old dude with his old man boner in a bikini saying "UwU they kicked me out of the gym! I was just trying to pee!"..
Every revolution eventually devours its own heroes. Revolutions behave this way because they cannot stand still. Their moral authority depends on constantly discovering new injustices, new heresies, and new enemies. If moral authority is defined by perpetual progress rather than some grounded, unmovable truth, then there is no final destination. You can never be "pure enough", or "committed enough". Eventually, the revolution comes for you too.

A moral system built entirely on constant reinvention cannot offer mercy, because it has no stable ground from which to extend it. Every new generation must prove its moral superiority by condemning the one that came before. The result is a culture where no one is ever finally righteous, only temporarily approved. You must continue to run the Red Queen's Race until you fall off of the treadmill and get cancelled.

You must continue to run the Red Queen's Race until you fall off of the treadmill and get cancelled.
Absolutely masterful turn of phrase.

So, I just created a new Bluesky account to post videos of Black criminals (but I repeat myself). TWO things immediately jumped out at me:

1) Before I gave it any data (it had a category selection screen I couldn't bypass, so I selected all of them), the first two posts on my timeline were this utter rubbish.

Screenshot 2026-03-16 at 21.28.29.webp

So, there's that.

2) But also, the official URL is hard to find. bluesky.com is a domain name squattor. THEY COULDN'T GET THE DOT-COM OF THEIR OWN FUCKING NAME. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

The next one I tried was bsky.social, since it's in most people's usernames. But all I find there is a promotional page for Bluesky with no option to log in. It turns out you're meant to use bsky.app (but not bluesky.app - that one is a domain name squattor).

Just, a terribly unprofessional website that recommends lib shit to new users right off the bat.

This'll probably come across as old news to many, but I feel it needs emphasising that these are a typical user's first impressions of Bluesky, even now in 2026.

Blue sky and its user base have a parasocial relationship when you think about it. What I mean by this is that since the majority of the user base are commies who hate corporations but at the same time they stake their entire personality and identity of this site which is owned by a corporattion. So they hate and despise the idea of corporations but they also willingly use services that these corporations provide. They don’t see irony in this btw.

I'll just white knight for them a bit here: the algorithm is trying to prioritize the content that has the most engagement, and unless a hard "no politics" filter is enforced, that will always be political content. Politics is likely to be one of the categories in that selection screen. The takes in the screenshot are pretty standard boomerlib Facebook crap, so the algorithm can detect and filter insane crap from commiepedotroons already, and should be able to opt you out of politics if you didn't select politics in the categories screen.

Buying a domain from a squatter is also very expensive, as most of them charge tens of thousands to release it and jack up the price even more when it's associated with a brand name. Discord didn't have the discord.com URL for the first 7 or so years of its existence. Bluesky is currently sucking money from VCs and has no income stream from its users yet, so buying the bluesky.com domain for the price of a house is not high up on the list of priorities.

They pull out the "no ethical consumption under capitalism" excuse. Allow me to sperg about my theory as to why this cluster of people currently concentrated on Bluesky (and former users who migrated back to Xitter) ruin every platform they touch, regardless of social media or traditional forum or website builder or IRL. The waffle incident was the Bluesky corporation recognizing this and wanting them gone. No matter if they call themselves commies or liberals, there is no ideology or set of principles that they are committed to except personal hedonism. Maintaining their own Nostr instances doesn't give them as much dopamine as doing numbers on Xitter, so between adhering to communistic principles and redefining communistic principles to suit their personal desires, they will always pick the latter. There is no irony in their self-serving and parasitic behavior, only mislabeling. They are the jews/gypsies of the internet.

I purposely made an account selecting the safest, blandest, most innocuous categories available, lots of them, on a clean browser, and absolutely no politics. Even then, one out of every two posts presented to me were very political (even if mild for Bluesky's standards), like endless "orange-man-bad".
I also opted out of NSFW and Bluesky seemed to have a very hard time trying to keep up with that, too; after a few seconds of scrolling I was exposed to several highly fetishistic pictures and especially drawings that weren't technically pornographic but were terrifying anyway; even if it took it a little longer, it also showed me people showing bussy or worse.
I don't think it is a matter of the algorithm; I think the problem is that certain users/groups/identities are completely unmoderated, and there is very little actual content in a more neutral social media meaning. The only consistent "normal" content comes from automated accounts that post on every site at once, and I suspect the algorithm doesn't like those accounts very much. Asking the algorithm to show me Bluesky posts that aren't either politically biased or disgustingly sexual is risking a HAL 9000 scenario.

If you make a post with a Twitter link in it, you will get added to this retarded list (No archive link unfortunately because they all just archive the login page)
Obviously most people going onto Bluesky will already be left-leaning, but does anyone behind this actually expect this would make people stay on the site?
of course these human pieces of garbages are celeberating chuck norris' death

Why are they happy about his death? Did he cause someone's death on set? Maybe there's allegations of misconduct against him? Did he laugh at minority children being run over by cars? What HORRIBLE, AWFUL thing must he have done to deserve mockery and celebration at his passing?

Ah...

I decided to try this for myself. You're not lying; it really is that bad.

I made a dummy account on a throwaway email. Since you're required to select at least one category to fully make your account, I picked Animals, Nature, Pets, and Photography. I was hoping this would get me lots of cat photos.

Right off the bat, I thought it was a good start since it at least suggested some accounts that fit the categories I picked. Note that, for some reason, it also decided I'd be interested in sports despite not picking that. However, I decided to ignore all of these suggestions and just go for the raw algorithm on a new account.

Under the spoiler are screenshots of every single post shown to me on my brand-new account in the suggested posts. I kept screenshotting until I found something that wasn’t news (ideally a cute cat or dog, but I was willing to count actual art or nature photography). All the screenshots are in chronological order.

Before opening the spoiler, think about how many politisperging screenshots I could feasibly take before I finally saw a single cat or dog photo. Ten? Fifteen?
The answer is 21. It took 21 posts before I got a single video of a dog.

If this is what they promote to new users, it's no wonder why 35% of users eventually delete their accounts.

Yeah, Bluesky is fucking unusable for anybody who isn't a frothing-mouth superleftist whose only method of getting blood pumping is through manufactured outrage perpetuated by moral superiority and fearmongering. Even if you bend towards the left yourself, it makes for a miserable experience; the average user on Bluesky doesn't seem to understand that for many people, social media is ideally a way to decompress from the stress of the day-to-day grind - why else would pictures of animals, funny meme pages and shitposters be so wildly popular across multiple platforms?

Rate me politisperging for this if you must, but regardless of where you land politically, I feel we can all agree that we're definitely living in some dicey times when it comes to the economy, education, labor/unemployment, healthcare access, etc. These hypertensive blowhards lose sight of the fact that sometimes, instead of thinking about how your neighborhood is full of so many antisocial freaks that you're thinking of selling your soul to the surveillance state and getting a doorstep camera, it's nice to just have a quick smile at a clip of a dog excitedly greeting its owner after a year of separation.

Even more baffling is that I've personally witnessed users being admonished simply for not posting political content or news - of any kind - to their pages. You are not permitted to curate your space as you see fit for the wardens of Bluesky will insist you make yourself and your online presence as radioactive as they are, lest anybody normal gravitate toward you to potentially build a resistance against them. And they're all so accustomed to the boiling pot of water they've been cooking in since their devastation over the 2016 election that they don't understand why no other frog is so eager to leap in with them!

Such a toxic, strange platform - I can't imagine it surviving into the 2030s. Jay Graber was wise to cut loose when she could.

Xitter's popularity is an amalgamation of Twitter's "former glory", grifter and bot engagement farming and libshits taking the bait, with some actual schizophrenic neo-nazis here and there

Bluesky has none of these and does no effort to develop and establish a popular, engaging method of generating traffic

They get out of the mental bind by just assuring themsevels that once they win?

They'll put those who owned BlueSky up against a wall.

You see it all the time when someone says "For a group that loves the proles so much? You sure seem to love using the products and services of Capitalists to oppress dissent"

They'll claim there's no hypocrisy because they're only ironically "buying rope with which to one day hang them!"

You're never going to get intelligent takes in a 300 character post. Only ragebait. That's how I know anyone that looks to bluesky or similar platforms for politics is a mouth breathing retard that jumps from one ragebait piece to the next with no thought inbetween.

The moment people stopped treating Twitter like a Livejournal lite and started using it to try and actually hold "discussions" was the moment humanity was doomed.
