Been following the Bluesky stuff on and off since the whole 2nd Exodus visa vi the Trump election and it's only then I begun really seeing people discuss it.
The funniest fact to me is that people decided they were "Owning the nazi's" by running (again) to another website they could hide in and seethe in private, which is obviously super typical of a group of people notorious for not having a backbone or an adult sense of how to handle confrontation or conflicting opinions. I'm seeing tons of Zooaphile/Pedo postings coming out of the place (Which was a trend a year or two ago from X, but has now gone there as people get bullied off the platform) and ultimately I see this going the way of Mastodon since Troons have the desire to never lift a finger to deal with pedophiles and zooaphiles, despite them endlessly bitching about both groups.

In practice there is nothing decentralised about Bluesky. Bluesky exists in its own self-contained ecosystem. They intentionally bypassed ActivityPub and wrote their own protocol so they could successfully create their censorship bubble.

This is a massive 'fuck you' to anyone in favour of an open internet and anyone advocating for this platform to be the direction that the internet goes is actively in favour of what decentralised social networking was designed (at least to some extent) to bypass - censorship.

This reminds me of some commies I debated once who LOVED the Tor network in their own country - which is fine and good - but also said it was justified for China to block it. Censorship is bad until there's something I don't like that needs to be censored.
