This won't dethrone X but it will fuck up the fediverse echo-chamber community by splitting development with their AT Protocol bullshit when everyone was working on ActivityPub shit first.
Also, it gets really expensive to host over 1k people on your instance so you're supposed to kick people out into making their own using your shit protocol and frontend.
However, because they gotta own Elon, they are going to go ahead supporting 1 million retards and pay the huge typescript tax trying to compete with Musk, who won the ultimate bet and has infinitium money at this point.

I think it's 'cause volatile SJW's like the ones who migrated to Bluesky desperately need an enemy to seethe against in their posts, or else they have nothing to post about (well, not counting the weirdos/furfags who solely use Bluesky to post disturbing degenerate fetish content). As I've talked about in this thread before, Bluesky has a board and Mike Masnick is on it. Terminal autists might know Mike from his blog Techdirt, which purports to be about free speech on the internet, but is in reality a dumping ground for multiple anti-Elon articles per day because Twitter is now in the hands of someone he politically disagrees with.

During 2022, he wrote a shit-eating article about the "content moderation learning curve" and how removing illegal content means you are somehow not a free speech platform.

Masnick's entire job is writing about the importance of stuff like content moderation on social media, so I think it's hilarious that, on a platform he's a controlling member of, bsky is falling into the exact same "don't moderate the child porn and hope it all works out" pitfall that he said Elon would fall into in his article.
