Bluesky - "Decentralized" Twitter Alternative. Leftist Tranny Hugbox. "Answer" to Elon Musk's "Fascist" Takeover of 𝕏 (Formerly Twitter).

Rabid leftists prove themselves to be corporate whores once again. A dying console brand somehow means that the site has potential.

Bluesky being entirely propped up by investor capital is interesting to me. Twitter struggled to deal with declining revenue even after Musk bought it. Without advertising I don't see how it's going to survive long term without selling data or doing a deal with an AI company like Reddit did.
I've taken a quick look at Bluesky and it seems like every single post is either talking about how much X/Twitter sucks, or how cool Bluesky is. No real engagement other than this weird sense of a smug ciclejerk over their superiority complex. I'm pretty sure the honeymoon is going to end very quickly, and these people are gonna either kill eachother in a purity spiral, or starve from lack of meaningful interactions.
Modern leftism exclusively defines itself by what it isn't. It's why Kamala was only capable of either supporting trannies or saying she wasn't like Trumpler.

I mean, I think it's apparent that it's being propped up as a loss leader to regain the control lost with Twitter/X. Profitability was never the goal, looks like, except as a figleaf to it being ostensibly a corporate company. So long a Jeff Bezos-alike is willing to burn money on it, it will survive, much like the Washington Post.

That money's eventually going to run out. Not all the investors are activist types some just want to make money and will eventually pull out.

The Washington Post costs a fraction of something like Twitter did to run. You don't need hundreds of servers/staff worldwide to run something like The Washington Post. In TWP's case you don't even need a web server you can just run its entire thing via AWS.
So, apparently that whole AI freak out wasn't worth it and was full on bullshit. Now imagine the faaces of all the artists who nuked their Twitter accounts, hoping to regain whatever huge numbers they had on Bluesky.
Mass exodus's from Twitter have happened many times before and they always failed. It's the reason why Elon just bought it because he knew if he set up X as a twitter competitor it would've died like the dozens of other attempts.

I wish I had paid more attention at the time, but there was some massive drama earlier this year over a blocklist called "Aegis". Troons were ranting about conspiracies, fed infiltration, and the possible involvement of the notorious Laurelai Bailey.
Anyone remember more about the Aegis situation? I regret not delving into it when I had the chance. :(
It comes up in Kevin's thread, might start a bit earlier than linked post.

The "toxicity" these retards claim to be fighting against is an inherent feature of the twatter-like posting format and the resulting site culture. Add to that the fact they explicitly made sure to extract only the most opinionated and self-important neckbeards from twitter to become their core userbase, and I'm left wondering how long they'll last lol. Even Dorsey himself couldn't fucking bear it.

Fun Fact: Lucas is one of the most blocked users on Bluesky.
Top Blocked Keffals.jpg
Excellent work on the OP, @Admiral Throbnelius. Just one very minor point on Keffals, Lucas was never one of the most blocked users, he was just blocked by a lot of people over a brief period. Fellow cow Brianna Wu recently made it into the top 5 blocked accounts overall.

@AssignedEva had a number of great posts on how Aegis (and Bluesky's moderation tools in general) worked in the Kevin thread, this one and two here in particular.

Very nice thread, BlueSky is comprised mostly of people taking a political stance against 𝕏, with a delusional belief it'll ever be relevant and not something even Dorsey dropped, and it's no coincidence most of those people are severely deviant and with extensive material to document. The platform, that somehow managed to beat former Twitter in how unusable it is despite being a complete copy-and-paste, still has a pretty big and annoying issue unresolved: you can't easily remove the few users using it and the massive number of bot accounts that follow you. The issue has been sitting for a while on their GitHub (link 1, link 2), and it seems that may lead to some funny situations like the following (that I can't verify the authenticity of at all, but it looked amusing; direct link, archive):

I remember during the closed beta the app was barely even functional and I uninstalled it in less than a minute.

Logged back on out of morbid curiosity... Yeah not a lot has changed, except now you get blocked by 100+ people simply for existing without a pride flag on your profile and every. single. member. is a Kamala Harris cultist. Never seen anyone stick around for long because they either miss the attention or they realize that Bluesky is fucking boring.

This is what happens when the only selling point of your website is that "it's not owned by Elon".

They will get like no engagement and then leave within a month.
