maybe im looking too far into things but I find it weird they list gore and torture but more specifically dismemberment.
as if dismemberment doesnt fall under gore, its almost like they know their audience too well and know that somebody will eventually try to ride the line and argue that dismemberment isnt technically gore.
they also put non consensual sexual activites on the same level as gore which i think is pretty funny

People have been glazing elon and twitter a bit too much here. This shit is likely not going to overtake twitter, it's only getting a bump from a post-election fallout that will likely not sustain itself through bluesky's growing issues, but acting like it's current growth is nothing is it's own form of coping.

Okay, sorry for the immediate double post, but I just thought about it: expect to see much more bluesky-jumping in the following weeks from celebrities and corpos.

I think bluesky will eventually be part of a power grab. They want to hopefully increase bluesky and decrease twitter enough that continuing to use twitter will be seen as a political take, which is their usual M.O. with things like kiwifarms and alt-media.

I realized it when Xbox went to bluesky. The HR goblins and the DEI pushers are still very high up in the chain of command. Twitter fired them all, but other companies have not moved so fast. They realized they lost this last election because their incompetency could be broadcast on twitter, so they are going to use all their remaining reach to kill it with a corpo backed alternative, or at least hurt it as much as possible before a 2028 run.

Mark this post down, I know it.

I'm trying to sus out the possible futures here.
-BlueSky somehow replaces Twitter (least probable).
-They have to spend ungodly amounts of time and money moderating content and it bankrupts them.
-They do a general AI-powered crackdown on free speech that either is too loose to please their users, too restrictive, or goes full Tay-AI.
-Similar to the last one, the corpos force them to crack down on the Lefty Lunacy and Pedo Sneedo, which then pisses off their users, OR they don't and the corpobux dry up.
-Struggle-snuggle sessions go non-stop and it becomes a Maoist containment site, with others leaving for other sites.
-Everybody realizes that it's shit and goes back to Twitter (most likely).

BlueSky is an attempt to recreate what they had before Elon bought Twitter. Like Twitter, it did not start out as a part of the machine, and, once it became clear that this is where the platform will go, Jack Dorsey pulled out in disgust and endorsed Elon Musk and X.

I don't think they are going to get far. Kiwifarms has been a pariah from the start, but X is normie-friendly and, above all else, fun. That's bad news for them, because every time they try to shame people for having fun they lose support.

To back this up I've been lurking for a bit and there's a lot of news agencies already on there, and they often have their own staff lists floating around, but there's a lot of staff listed that have a profile and pic but not a single post. Same with some of the big corps. They're name claiming but they haven't all set their interns to churn out things there yet.

I'm starting to think that a very good, subversive use of these block lists will be as painstakingly-curated networking vehicles for new accounts. I'm a brand new hecking evil kiwi farms CHUD, and I've just joined Bluesky. Oh what's this? A person who absolutely despises me has lovingly taken their own time to curate a list of suggested friends for me! No more having to post "help me find frens!" Who could ask for more than a recommendation list crafted by a real human with actual domain knowledge :story:
