This assumes "normal people" would have an internal process where they form their own worldview from scratch based on external factors. I think that's far from the truth.
Normies seem to have some kind of conformity process at the core of their worldview, where their worldview is what they assume the worldview of most other people is. They also have a seemingly infinite capacity for enduring cognitive dissonance.

I can't believe that we are really looking at Tumblr 2, but somehow even gayer and more leftist.

What it seems to me will happen is that it will just be another degen art site at this point. I cannot see the "artsy types" backing down if they get enough engagement.

So far there's just been a lot of begging posts on twatter for "muh audience" to join them on troonsky, but no real indication how successful it is for them yet.

How is this different to any other platform? Facebook deliberately fucked with YouTube embeds to encourage uploading videos on site, Instagram is a pain in the ass if you want to include an off-site link to anything (despite being quite happy to advertise verified scams), and YouTube is, well, YouTube.

Their desperation to paint Musk as this uniquely evil Bond villain is so pathetic. He didn't buy Twitter to run it as a charity.

To be fair, what is the problem with this? You can't load scripts, fonts, images or any other kind of media. The only real difference to other CDNs is that you control the content type of the blob.
