What's going to happen is what always happens when these retards start handing out broomsticks, a few orgs like the NYT will get them and basically do nothing with them, but the majority of broomsticks handed out will be for troon/faggot orgs whose only life goal is to janny.

This system seems to mirror the idea of certificate authorities, which in practice have worked as well as any system could on the internet. Regardless, no one uses Bluesky so this has no effect on anyone whatsoever.

They desperately wanted this back. When Elon took away the toy box and monetized the blue check mark it felt to them like the fall of communism. People who invested decades into being on committees and enforcing ideology lost all their status and soft power overnight. Same for twitter in which the blue check mark was an award that you were now outer party as opposed to being a prole. Trooning out and living on the site would get you a check mark while billionaires and leaders couldn’t buy one, it would disproportionally go to the institutions and lifestyles they approved.
Problem with their “decentralized” but not really system is there is no forced acknowledgement. Twitter was the town square and the enjoyment they got from having separate rules for them versus others won’t work on blue sky. The only people on that horrid site are checkies and their followers. When everyone has a check mark, nobody does.
