At least he out lived you.

Some more leftist infighting happening on Bluesky between Socialists and Regular Democrats.
You see this rubbish on Bluesky all the time now.
Back on Twitter pre Musk, there was a healthy amount of both left and right wingers on the platform so they just fought each other.
Now that Bluesky is the same thing but without the right wingers, the acceptable political opinions have moved way left, and the leftists fight each other instead.
The platform is in a sad state and unlike Tumblr which has kept going as a niche platform, I don't think Bluesky will survive once the dust settles. The users keep going down and down, and funnily enough right back to Twitter.
If nothing else, then you should like Bluesky as a containment platform.
Remember the disaster that was the main Tumblr exodus? I can tell the same thing will happen again, but maybe a bit slower this time.

I keep an eye on bluesky, and recently the skeets fall into three categories.
1. shit like this:
1.webp
2. pictures of starving gazans
3. silicon valley IT professionals getting laid off & begging for work. They're being replaced by H1-Bs, but obviously they don't complain about that part. They're fuuuuuucked, I have no idea wtf these people are going to end up doing

Tumblr started as a hobbyist site and still has hobbyists. Twitter was a brain melting mental illness simulator, and Bluesky was a clone of Twitter made for people that decided things on Twitter did not conform well enough to their specific brand of lunatic screeching. There's literally zero draw for it unless you're just in it to get yelled at.

Most people are "fascist" according to their absurdly broad definition of the term. These idiots on Bluesky are so deep in their echo chamber that they're going to have a mental breakdown when they have to finally face reality.
you know I'm really curious what they'd "skeet" if fascism would make a resurgence.
the joke is nothing since they would've been long gulag'd or sucked it's cocked like the spineless, opportunistic scum they are

That's a large part of their mental illness. They know they have to speak up before authoritarianism takes root, which is why they see the seeds of authoritarianism everywhere and are paranoid and constantly jumping at shadows. Their attempts to smother authoritarianism in its cradle of course is ironic because they need ridiculous power to do so. Most notably by censoring speech.

Do they really though? None of these people are acting like they would if they truly thought fascists were in power. Would they really be posting anti-Trump boomer memes on Bluesky using their real names and photos (and often photos of their houses and pets and children) if they actually lived in fear of a knock on the door at 2am dragging them off to a secret interrogation dungeon?

Plenty of them have the means to leave the US. Yes, there's a lot of indigent furries on Bluesky, but many others are solidly middle class, or even successful public figures. Why aren't any of them fleeing this fascist nation before Trump freezes everyone's passports and starts the death-camp roundups?

I think they broadly fall into two categories: people who are LARPing about fascism because it brings excitement and meaning to their lives, and people who genuinely believe that "fascism" means "I don't get my way, and I dislike the guy in charge."

None of the people on Bluesky actually want to "smother authoritarianism," though. They want to get their own way, and crush their enemies. They feel like they can't do that, and that is what they perceive as "fascism."

It's like a child screaming in her bedroom that her parents are literally starving her to death because she was sent to bed once without dinner.

I kinda assumed it was both of those things at once for many of them, they’re just larping without even being fully aware of it or won’t admit that their perception of fascism being everywhere is just larping at the end of the day. It wouldn’t be very fun if Trump were an actual dictator, but the idea of it is exciting to bored westerners.

Yes. You nderestimate how deep in their delusions they are.
