There's nothing about recovering from trauma that requires you doing it publicly. Anyone doing so on social media is oversharing, attention-seeking, or both.

That's because they absolutely do not ever tell people to do that. Period.

When something like this is recommended by a therapist (funneling trauma into a "creative" effort like art, or a journal etc) it's largely done so that the patient can use the medium to help better articulate their thoughts and feelings when trying to verbalize and explain it is difficult for them. These are very private creations that are literally only meant to be seen by the patient and therapist so that they can be used to fill in the blanks or provide further context (etc) for therapeutic purposes. (edit: You see the "drawing" aspect most often in children, who might not have the language to explain in detail what they have been through, but can very crudely illustrate something to get their point across.)

Channeling your "trauma" into hardcore pornography to "reclaim it" is not a thing that exists. People who have genuinely been through trauma to the point where it affects them so greatly do not celebrate it. They are making it up for clout/pity and to use it as a fetish vehicle for their degenerate lifestyles, and "I'm a rape victim" comes with the added shield of not being able to be criticized because dispelling or dismissing the claims of a rape survivor is seen as a major societal faux pas. They know this, that's why they use it as their excuse.

People who claim to draw rape/noncon/CSAM/CP/whatever as "cope" are in the exact same psychological profile as people who openly claim to be intersex and are proud of it, as in you should not believe them at all because 100% of them are making it up for attention.

When I was growing up, people grouped up based on the music they liked or the hobbies they participated in. There were goths, emos, stoners, jocks, metalheads, preppy kids, hip hop heads, and so on. And most of these groups interacted and intermingled. For the most part, everyone got along, outside of personal beef. There wasn't METALHEADS VS RAP KIDS or whatever, everyone pretty much got along.

Nowadays, kids don't seem to find unique niche communities...they base their entire personality around self-diagnosed mental illnesses, extremist political ideologies, or perverted sexualities. In fact, they seemingly groom themselves into adapting the traits. I've noticed far-left people adopt all the behavioral symptoms of Cluster B personality disorders, and lionize those horrible traits. And they seek out enemies, people to hate for being in a different weird political / sexual niche.

Kids collect mental illnesses like we used to collect Pogs and Pokemon cards. And they flaunt everything; no shame, no humbleness, just a constant desperation for the attention and affirmation they for some reason think they deserve for oversharing shit they should keep private.

Add to this, the fact cultural trends proliferate through social media, and there are no more regional niches. No more regional dialect or culture or slang or activities. Everyone is drawing from the same narcissistic, autistic TikTok well.

I'm going to sound like an old man yelling at clouds, but I believe we aren't going to find ourselves in a healthier cultural environment until young people find a way to be weird and young and rebellious without crusty old(-ish) perverts or grifters being able to immediately encroach their spaces and completely take over their movements. There's too much generational cross-contamination, thanks to the Internet, for young people to truly stretch their wings.
