This past Halloween, we were finally hit with Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green's direct sequel to John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN. The film was met with tons of fanboy love and since then rumors and whatnot surrounding a possible sequel have been flying. And today is no different, kinda. What I mean is here we are again today talking about a possible Blumhouse HALLOWEEN II... but now it seems like it might not happen?

Let's just get right into what Jason Blum said recently and go from there:

"Well, we had talked about it but right now we’re not shooting any “Halloween” movies right now because we don’t have deal rights to the sequels. But I certainly hope to make 10 more but I’ll start with one more."

Wait, what does Blum mean 'we don't have deal rights to the sequels'? Does this mean further Blumhouse HALLOWEEN movies are in jeopardy? But then what do we make of the news that the planned sequel recently snagged a screenwriter in the form of Scott Teems (new FIRESTARTER, Stephen King's THE BREATHING METHOD). My head already hurts. Hopefully, we hear more about this soon.

We'll let you know one way or the other when we hear anything further on a potential sequel to Blumhouse's HALLOWEEN. Until then, let us know what YOU thought of the latest entry below! Ignoring the events of every HALLOWEEN except the 1978 original, this HALLOWEEN is about

"Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago."

Jamie Lee Curtis and Andi Matichak star alongside Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen, Dylan Arnold as Allyson's boyfriend Cameron Elam, Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Virginia Gardner as Allyson's friend Vicky, Miles Robbins as Vicky's boyfriend Dave, Drew Scheid as Oscar, Toby Huss as Ray, Jefferson Hall as Aaron Korey, Rhian Rees as Dana Haines, Omar J. Dorsey as Sheriff Barker, Rob Niter as Deputy Sheriff Walker, Jibrail Nantambu as Julian, Haluk Bilginer as Dr. Ranbir Sartain, Nick McKeever as Deputy Keeve, and Diva Tyler as a caretaker. James Jude Courtney plays Michael Myers, with original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle (see above) also wearing the mask for one scene.

Eh, I don't think he literally wants to make 10 more...it's more like he's just shooting the shit and exaggerating. I really liked the 2018 movie but I think they can only make one more good sequel to it tbh.

Even this one was riding on fumes. I liked it a lot but there were so many scenes that pulled from the other films it's hard to imagine how they'd do a sequel well.

Didn't Laurie die in the beginning of Halloween H20? How is she still alive in the sequels?

Yeah Halloween 2018 definitely left plenty of ways they could make a sequel
what with Mikey fucking burning to death in the basement they trapped him in

Maybe they could go to the extreme with Laurie and just have her become the new Michael because hell she's already crazy why not or maybe just make the daughter the new Mike cuz she picks up the knife at the end and it'd be super deep

So many great directions they could take this franchise in

What if it were like the original concept where it was a different movie with every sequel?

Or we get a long overdue sequel to Season of the Witch

Can that even be done without a remake of Season of the Witch first? Would they have to get all the same filming equipment they had from the 1980s so it feels like an actual sequel? Imagine the whiplash in watching the OG Season of the Witch & Season of the Witch 2 filmed in 2019 without the retrograde.

Here's a radical idea: create something new ffs.
To be fair they could go back to John Carpenter's original idea of having the Halloween franchise be an anthology of different spoopy stories set during Halloween, which is where Halloween 3 came into being before the producers decided to jump fully aboard the slasher train and resurrect Michael.

My only fear of this idea being resurrected is that somepony will try and do a "HALLOWEEN CINEMATIC UNIVERSE!" and wind up having Michael Myers fighting the fucking stonehenge cult from Halloween 3* and a whole bunch of other random new Halloween franchised characters showing up

*come to think of it there was a druid cult of child killers in the 4-5-6 Halloween movies....maybe there already was a crossover?

Freddy vs Jason was pretty ass but I still enjoyed it back in the day. Although, Illinois is nowhere near New Jersey...

I dunno, could be fun but horror film franchises tend to get stale pretty early on...

It'd be cool, but you just know the Doug Walkers of the audience would start complaining about "WHERE'S MICHAEL!?" the moment he doesn't star in one film.

Though tbh, Trick 'R Treat is probably the best film that has come out that followed the original idea of Carpenter of "spooky stories occurring during Halloween". A shame it never went anywhere.
