Blumhouse wants to make 10 Halloween sequels - But doesn't have rights

what with Mikey fucking burning to death in the basement they trapped him in
The shot of the basement burning and reveal of Michael was not there was much like the ending to the original when Loomis saw he was gone after shooting him six times. Plus as the credits were finishing up, Michael's breathing could be heard. So if a sequel is made, I won't be surprised if they come up with an explanation of how Michael escaped.

I do hope they have "Mr. Sandman" in the next movie in some way. I was surprised it wasn't in the 2018 movie.

Speaking as someone who enjoyed the 2018 film, a little bit of advice.

Quit while you're ahead

You made a solid sequel that kinda sorta made up for the sins of the past. Let it go. Don't make another one and lets have the series end on a respectable note.

Oh who am I kidding. Asking the film industry to not make sequels to a successful horror film is like asking a pig to stop shitting.

I hope the follow-up to Halloween 2018 is really good, but doesn't make enough money to get more sequels. I like Michael Myers a lot too, but just let him die for good already ffs. :optimistic:

I felt that 2018 was a great cap for the series. Unless 2018-2 looks fantastic, I'm fine with just letting this series rest.
It finally got one good film after the 1980s, I'm fine that.

Fuck you H20 was bad

ANTHONY MICHAEL HALL TO PLAY TOMMY DOYLE IN HALLOWEEN KILLS
18 hours ago by: Kevin Fraser

Anthony Michael Hall, Halloween, Michael Myers

It was inevitable, but after the commercial and critical success of last year's HALLOWEEN, it was revealed that we'll be getting not one, but twomore HALLOWEEN sequels from David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. The two sequels, titled HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS, will be shot back-to-back with production expected to kick off this September.

Rumours swirled last month that another classic HALLOWEEN character, Tommy Doyle, might be back for the new sequels, and according to Variety, that rumour has been proven to be correct as Anthony Michael Hall will be stepping in to play the role in HALLOWEEN KILLS. No word on if he will carry over to HALLOWEEN ENDS as well, but that's assuming he survives the events of the first sequel. HALLOWEEN fans know Tommy Doyle as one of the young kids Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) babysat in the first film, but the character would go on to be featured in a larger role in HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS, where he was played by Paul Rudd. The original rumour stated that Blumhouse Productions had actually reached out to Rudd to reprise the role, but the actor's schedule proved too busy to allow him to take part. Jamie Lee Curtis will be back to reprise her role of Laurie Strode, and it's expected that Judy Greer and Andi Matichak will be back as well.

And I thought Paul Rudd was coming back as Tommy

An update:

HALLOWEEN KILLS, the next entry in the long-running HALLOWEEN franchise, is scheduled to reach theatres on October 16th this year, but one lucky batch of viewers are going to get the chance to watch the movie tonight, just under nine months ahead of the release date.

The folks over at HalloweenDailyNews say they have confirmed that a test screening of HALLOWEEN KILLS will be taking place this evening, January 30th, somewhere in Los Angeles.

A test screening of the previous HALLOWEEN movie led to a new ending being filmed, so we'll have to wait and see if this test audience feels like something in HALLOWEEN KILLS should be reshot.

Directed by HALLOWEEN 2018's David Gordon Green from a screenplay he has written with Danny McBride and Scott Teems, HALLOWEEN KILLS doesn't have an official synopsis just yet, but star Jamie Lee Curtis (who reprises the role of Laurie Strode once again) has said that this one will

really unpack the first movie, bringing back all those characters whose lives were affected by what happened in 1978."

Curtis is joined in the cast by Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle, Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion, Robert Longstreet as Lonnie Elam, and Charles Cyphers as Leigh Brackett. All of those are characters whose lives were affected by Michael Myers in '78. Returning from HALLOWEEN 2018 are Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen, Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allyson, Dylan Arnold as Allyson's boyfriend / Lonnie's son Cameron, and Jibrail Nantambu as scene stealer Julian. One new addition is child actress Victoria Paige Watkins as a character named Christy. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle is also in the cast, possibly making another masked cameo like he did in HALLOWEEN 2018, and Myers is primarily being played by James Jude Courtney again.

HALLOWEEN 2018 and HALLOWEEN KILLS are follow-ups to the original 1978 HALLOWEEN only, they do not acknowledge the events of the other sequels.

Once work is finished on HALLOWEEN KILLS, Green will be taking the helm of another sequel, HALLOWEEN ENDS. Written by Green, McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier, that one is set for an October 15, 2021 release.

Malek Akkad is producing these films with Jason Blum and Bill Block. Green, McBride, and Curtis serve as executive producers alongside John Carpenter and Couper Samuelson. Carpenter will also be composing the score.

Isn't 13 or so Halloween movies enough? Either bring back John Carpenter's original idea and have every future film no longer have anything to do with Michael Myers and Laurie's family or just let the series rest in peace. People want a new Friday the 13th because it's been over ten years since the last one the gap between Halloween sequels isn't as big

Why do people bitch and moan about horror sequels and new timelines, but every capeshit movie gets rave reviews from most of the same dumbasses?

I mean, we have had three Spider-Mans, 8 Supermans and 30 Batmans. Fuck the naysayers, Blumhouse Halloween films are the best thing for slashers in current year.

If they want to make more after Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, then wouldn't mind a remake of Halloween 3 or a follow-up, but they do no more Michael Myers or a copycat killer.

I mean they want to do more slashers could remake something like the Burning or New York Ripper, or make a new slasher series.

Or the new timeline can’t merge the world but having Myers mask be made by Silver Shamrock, including his clown mask from his childhood killing. This way, the curse from the Druid cult found an evil host in Myers simply by him wearing a Shamrock mask and awakening him as the vessel of Samhain.

I honestly don't think the trailer spoils as much as people are whining about. Some deaths should be obvious anyway...how on earth could someone be shocked that Allyson's boyfriend gets killed?

What's funny is, based on what was seen on the TV in HIII, the Myers Halloween is fictional and the HIII world is the real one.

Unless they want to go full meta and say that movie we saw was a fictional account of an actual event, and they both take place in the same universe, and they explain other sequels didn't get made due to the citizens of Haddonfield and Laurie complained of the movie's insensitivity of trying to capitalize on a tragic event, taking a jab at Hollywood and the popularity of slasher movies in the 80s.
