Maybe not thread worthy yet, but given the participants I expect it will be before long, and almost certainly worth following for lulz. A pornstar named Emily Willis has filed a $5mil defamation suit against two other pornstars, Gianna Dior and Adria Rae, after they accused her on Twitter of starring in a video fucking a dog.

Discovery for this will be fun

CHANDLER V. CDCR

WoLF is suing to protect single sex prisons.

On November 17, 2021, the Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) filed a lawsuit on behalf of four incarcerated women and the non-profit organization Woman II Woman to overturn California’s SB 132. We are asking the court to declare the law unconstitutional.

WoLF is currently awaiting the state’s response.

I can't fucking wait.

He's almost certainly talking about Adam Krigler.

Not sure if this warrants a thread, but Sydney Watson is suing the Blaze because of Elijah Schaffer allegedly mistreating her during their You Are Here podcast. Neither of them have their own threads, but they are very lolcow adjacent, especially with their podcast launching the Jack Murphy lolcow saga.

Thanks for posting the filing. I started capping Eric July's stream from yesterday on this when he began discussing the lawsuit. He is also a The Blaze employee and though he wasn't mentioned in the complaint like so many others (Elijah Shaffer, Rekieta, Jack Murphy, Nick Fuentes, John Doyle, InfoWars), he was present filling-in for Sydney Watson during one of the mentioned streams and expressed concerns about being called to testify. He goes over the filing and later shits on The Quartering for what he sees as bullshit and phoniness in the treatment of Eliza Bleu vs the treatment of Sydney Watson, who is his friend.

I posted a resized/compressed version of his stream in the Comicsgate thread but I still have the original cap to chop up for clips or repost elsewhere and link if this becomes a thread.

I'd recommend making the OP in Prospering Grounds, there is a lot of potential here and if this does devolve into a full-on lolsuit reviving an existing thread will be easier than making a new one after the suit has already gone to trial.
Most suits on this board aren't just about a suit that happens to involve a lolcow, they're about a suit involving a lolcow acting completely ridiculous. If Sydney Watson really did get trolled into reading obscene comments without realizing what they meant we are on the right track for a lolsuit thread. Watching a judge have to read that from the bench would be pretty great.

The reason I'm not saying "this is a lolsuit, case closed" is that the suit doesn't introduce any new ridiculousness - with Maddox's lolsuit we had needlessly melodramatic (and typo-riddled) filings from his attorney, punctuated with a demand for twenty million dollars all over songs calling him a cuck. It was so bad that the judge said outright he read the complaint and still could not figure out what the defendants had done that was actionable. Here the complaint is competently filed so Sydney Watson will probably not provide much entertainment herself, and if Schaffer and Murphy have (and listen to) competent attorneys they will keep quiet too. If that happens the thread for the suit will be slow-moving with only a handful of attorneys and people who got invested in the Murphy lolcow saga posting.

Another case that might warrant a thread comes to us from the Depp v. Heard/Lawtube Expanded Universe: Broughty v. Bouzy in federal court in New Jersey. Short version - a pro-Depp LawTuber and former NYPD cop named Nate Broughty got the attention of a pro-Heard tech entrepneur named Chris Bouzy for his coverage of Depp v. Heard, Bouzy claimed to have objective proof Broughty's coverage was "propaganda" and "fake news", then (in Broughty's narrative) Bouzy crossed into defamation when he claimed Broughty had planted evidence on suspects when he was an NYPD cop and was not a licensed attorney in New York. I have a draft OP if anyone wants to take a look but there's potential here imo, Broughty is using every filing as an excuse to take cheap shots at Bouzy while Bouzy's defense has big-brain arguments like "saying Broughty wasn't a lawyer isn't libelous because I typed his name into the database wrong".

Edit: Some typos + formatting.

I'm too lazy to make a thread, but someone else can feel free. It looks like Watson v Blaze is going to trial, though.

Fascinating. If you don't want to do it I will look into it. I follow both and this is legitimately the first I have heard about the case

Eric July is suing/getting sued by a some church in San Bernadino over trademark infringement for "ISOM" (Happenings link/.st).

This probably would not be a lolsuit EXCEPT for the fact Eric alleges and shows what appears to be an email chain tying back to Vito and possibly Dick Masterson coordinating this, the question is if that would pass federal/state rules for electronic evidence.
Nick Rekita is also "involved" by having Dick on to say "Well it was the church and definitely not me"!

This suggestion is now on hold since Bouzy won a motion to dismiss about two and a half weeks ago: The judge issued a ruling available here which held that some of the allegedly defamatory statements were opinion which makes them incapable of being defamatory by defamation while for the statements of fact, Broughty failed to show actual malice (in the context of this suit it means Broughty failed to show that Bouzy acted with knowing or reckless disregard for the truth). Broughty has just under two weeks to revive the suit by filing an amended complaint but if he does not do that, this case is dead.

Here is the docket if you want to get digging:

The complaint (direct link here) is pretty funny, apparently Sydney Watson's co-host got her to say really vulgar things because she didn't know any better:
It became a running gag for Mr. Schaffer and his audience that some of Mr. Schaffer’s fans would leave superchat comments with coded dog whistles that referenced grossly misogynistic and/or anti-Semitic comments for Ms. Watson to read with her not knowing what they meant.

Poster this in her thread, but figure I'd crosspost here. SSSniperwolf is being sued by her soon to be ex-husband and business partner Evan Young. On the face of it it doesn't appear to be much of a lolsuit, seems like a fairly standard breach of contract claim, with him arguing that since filing for divorce she's cut him out of his share of the joint business. However I think this bears watching for future lolsuit potential because:
a)They are, as far as I can tell, both literal retards
b)He's publicly claimed in the initial complaint that her early gaming career is entirely a fraud with him doing all the actual playing and her just reacting. From what little I know of her that's been heavily speculated on previously but for him to come out and say it seems like the sort of thing that would trigger an egomaniac like her to go full retard in response.

Does anyone have access to North Carolina court records? I'm looking for anything between T. C. Corriher/Everything Attachments and Neill Grading. Everything Attachments appears to be dead this might be funny.

Bad Dragon, maker of Vaush-approved horse cock dildos, is suing a competitor for breach of copyright. Bad Dragon claims SinSaint has copied 13 of its fantasy-themed toys, which "feature unique, original sculptural design elements that are... protected under U.S. copyright law as sculptural works".

The suit was just filed last week, so no funny legal business yet; just the usual summons and notices sent out. However they're demanding a jury trial, which means 12 members of the public may get shown side-by-side pictures of two wolf cock dildoes and asked to judge whether the ball bulge and vein patterns are similar enough to breach copyright.

They also neglected to include the actual pictures in the suit, probably to keep a clerk from throwing it out immediately as a prank. I'll archive the links in case this keeps going and gets funnier.
