Very confusing.

While I understand it would be 4D chess to just accept what amounts to an unenforceable judgement to leave her seething and madly writing Motions For Relief in perpetuity, it still seems strange.
She has a Zoom conference scheduled where she is to make a case for damages, which will result in hilarity for those of us with PACER accounts, and humiliation for Smelly.

Seeing as she accused the Judge of bias and demanded his recusal, my sincere hope is that he awards her $1.00 or similar, which would cost her somewher in the neighbourhood of $5000.00 minimum to collect, making her "victory" phyrric.

Stuttering John Melendez is suing Sirius XM. It's a pretty insane lawsuit and documents for it were recently filed.
 
Can there be a single thread for the US political lawsuits like impeachment of Trump, Kyle Rittenhouse, the SEC investigation into Reddit (Wallstreet Bets/GameStop stocks), and the Capitol building riot cases?

There's some funny stuff, like the prosecution of the Capitol riot case using a shopped photo in their filing documents.
I don't nearly enough about those cases to write the OP, and I don't think there's enough content for each case to have it's own thread, I'd read a single thread about them collectively.

Could some of them have a place in the Lolcow & Lolcow LLP boards? The SEC investigation of reddit is definitely cows suing cows at this point.

Is there a general repository for "lawtube" posts? There are a few internet lawyers out there anymore that make videos, some of whom are pretty interesting and all of whom deserve to have more views than Legal Eagle.
 
Possible thread candidate: Kathy Rumer (thread here) has a long and inglorious history of botched surgeries and picking arguments with ex patients on social media. More recently she sued a blog for making fun of her and calling her the "Bucher of Ardmore" (docket here); so far the case has included Rolling Stones quotes and getting the name of the defamatory website wrong. I think this case might have legs and could write the draft OP if people agree it warrants its own thread.

I read through it and it's just not funny to somebody who is not familiar with "Jackass" or Bam Margera: Unless there is some infighting or drama I'm not aware of and Bam is using this suit to cover up his own mistakes or boost his public profile, then the claims in the filing are at least plausible and the requests for relief are somewhat reasonable. Contrast that with Maddox including "Cucksmas Carols" or Kathy Rumer including parody lyrics to "Sympathy for the Devil" in their respective complaints.

The funniest thing in Bam's suit is that the "allegations" section doubles as an excuse to remind us of how he's a famous celebrity but that's not enough to push it into lolsuit territory in my opinion. This might have legs if he can't stand the scrutiny that comes with a lawsuit but we won't know that until the defendants respond at a minimum.

There has been a lot of drama. Bam for months was posting unhinged rants, it got so bad that Jeff Tremaine has a restraining order on Bam.

I really doubt he'll be able to win in court since he signed the Wellness Document, and I'm certain those things are ironclad otherwise every fired junkie would be suing.

My issue was that I only knew Bam Margera as "the guy who did Jackass fifteen-plus years ago" and did not realize he'd gone nuts since then, so the little bit of extra context you provided really changes things.

If the rants are that nutty and you have links or screencaps of them then yeah it is probably worthy of a Lolcow LLP thread.

My lolcow thread on Bam is full of his Instagram screeds with commentary. Fastest way to get a rundown is just looking at this Instagram that's uploaded all the shit Bam deleted.

Also here's TMZ's article with evidence of Tremaine's three year restraining order on Bam.

But yeah I'm not sure if it's worth a separate thread unless Bam is able to make this a long lawsuit. There will always be the lolcow general thread on Bam.

@Cardenio (sorry for tag but the quote feature is acting up, also sorry for not getting back quicker), I read through the Bam OP and I think it would be better to not make a thread unless or until he starts filing more documents or begins publicizing his suit. There is a ton of potential for this to be a lolsuit but that's all it has right now.

I agree. For now Bam's chaos is well contained in the lolcow thread. I just want Legal eyed Kiwis to know what's going on and see if Bam is able to get some settlement money or is laughed out of court.
