the fact that he never lost faith in what proved to be such an unmitigated disappointment seemed a bit tragic to me.
True, but perhaps appropriate because Bob is dead after all.Something tells me that reviving one of the old Bob threads would've been seen as thread necromancy
Same with his own son.
Yet another Bob remembrance thread ? I'm starting to think this has become the default topic whenever a Kiwi feels like making a thread without having any real content to show.
Not entirely true. You talked to him on the phone, and @robertsimmons met him in person. We have enough of these threads. We really don't need a dozen more pages of memorial for a man no one on the forum has ever met.
4 years ago today, Robert Franklin Chandler, Jr. passed away from complications related to heart failure in Martha Jefferson Hospital's Intestive Care Unit.
Losing a family member is, no doubt, one of the most heart wrenching and emotionally trying moments of any person's lifetime. Barb losing her husband and Chris losing his father is still probably one of the biggest moments of their lives, and probably still effects them dearly to this day.
Still, time heals all wounds -- but time will never make us forget how painful that injury was.
Everyone here should take a moment and remember all the great things Bob had accomplished in his time on Earth.
Even recalling little moments are huge contributions to making sure that our Internet Lumberjack may be gone but never forgotten. Don't be shy and tell us your fondest memories of the man.
Brother by all accounts he was the most tolerable and interesting of the three, but he was no saint himselfBob was a good man who tried very hard to cure his son's autism
This. This can't be said enough.Brother by all accounts he was the most tolerable and interesting of the three, but he was no saint himself
Fair enough, but I regard a new thread as topic necromancy. May as well past another thread asking what'll happen when barb dies.Something tells me that reviving one of the old Bob threads would've been seen as thread necromancy, though and nobody really likes that.
Brother by all accounts he was the most tolerable and interesting of the three, but he was no saint himself
Like the time when he pulled little Chris out of school, moved to a different county and homeschooled Chris for a year while trying to sue the school district over an alleged homosexual conspiracy. That was hilarious.
