If your work is not paying you what you are owed, then you leave. That's a sign of a dying business, you should start looking for the door. If you have skills and the labour market is good, then you should have very little problem finding a job. Of course this creature is also a cook, the job of choice of burnouts and crackheads attempting to get their life together, so the labour market is flooded, however those that can distinguish themselves can get a decent paying job at a more high end place. I'm not slagging on cooks, it's just the barrier to entry is low, but the skill ceiling is very high.

I always hate how these people consider any work to be exploitation. All human relationships and interactions are transactional in nature. It's based off what you can provide to someone and what they provide to you. A job asks you to do work in exchange for money, however you must keep meeting the minimum requirement of work to keep them paying you. If they are not paying you what you feel you are owed for your work, then you either ask for a raise, or you find someone who will. This has been the situation for humanity since the beginning.

So I don't know this whole "well we don't really know what race April was to begin with, the early comics where not very consistent" comes from, and as if people think the mirage comics is the real reference point for TMNT and not the 90's cartoon.
