I've been so out of touch with Hollywood that I didn't even know that this was a thing. It's just all so tiresome. To quote THE Lloyd Kaufman

Why this is such weird and horrible feeling to me may need a bit of background. Troma Entertainment was a place for outcasts, people who didn't fit into the Hollywood world/model. They made their movies as offensive as possible to the point of some of them being flat out unwatchable. Despite that and because they took in people that Hollywood wouldn't work with or gave them the chance to show themselves off when no one else would. One of those is Bob's beloved James Gunn. Without Troma getting James to help write Tromeo and Juliet we probably would never have heard of James Gunn, we wouldn't have one of the more interesting visions in the MCU, and the DCEU would be even more deader than it is right now believe it. And now I find out not only did Kaufman sell Toxic Avenger but when it the rights were first being optioned was not only back in 2010 but it was touted as being PG-13. For what it's worth this remake is a hard R for "strong violence and gore, language throughout, sexual references and brief graphic nudity" so that's something.

I am happy for the strike. I hope it hurts Hollywood something awful and I hope it takes Troma down with them.
