He believes that he deserves everything he wants, no matter how ludicrous, because he has earned it simply by existing. He deserves a place in Hollywood because he championed them. But these things have not happened and as he gets older, he starts to realize they may never happen. His career highlight was working at The Escapist, which was pretty low level even in its heyday. People routinely mock his views and postings online. The peers he respects have rejected him. Hollywood refuses to invite him into their fold. And he's still a virgin at 43. But this is not his fault. Nothing is ever Bob's fault. So it must be the work of some villainous boogeyman that only exists in his head. Eventually that boogeyman took form as Donald Trump.

The real reason he never attained his dreams is because he's a lazy bastard. But he can never be at fault, so he assumes his vices are actually virtues only he is smart enough to have worked out. Anger is not holding him back, it drives him forward. Gluttony and laziness are him enjoying life, like rich people do. The easiest way to envision it is to remember, Bob is a six-year-old on the inside.

He is EXTREMELY adverse to not getting his way and lashes out with knee-jerk scorn and violence at those who he perceives to be in his way.
