He might do it for a little while. There is a genuine exodus of lefty shitbirds setting up shop on Bluesky (which is, from all I've seen of it, totally inferior to Twitter from a UI standpoint). Right now all they're doing mostly is ... bitching about Twitter. It's like watching a bunch of dried up spinsters kvetching about the same ex-boyfriend.

In a group chat I'm a part of that's very lefty (I hide my powerlevel), there's a lot of talk about Bluesky and how everyone needs to swap to it, but it's never because it's a better site, it's only because Elon existing makes them seethe so much. I swear, I hear more about the X-loving autist from people bitching about Twitter than I do anywhere else. I'm tempted to just tell them to shut up about it because it's tiresome hearing the same old complaints day in and day out. I can almost relate in a way, considering how I'd be quite upset if the farms went away, but it's really not comparable. Jersh has had to fight tooth and nail to keep the farms alive; meanwhile, Twitter is still there, same as always, and it's not likely to go anywhere anytime soon. So, y'know, fuck these retards.

The datamining update from recently that Bob's referring to is the latest thing that's gotten them all in a tizzy, as if all their data weren't being constantly scraped and analyzed for decades at this point. I look forward to the inevitable complaints when Bluesky ends up doing the same when they have to start turning a profit somehow.

As I've said before, both when he made his Mastodon account (remember that? Bob probably doesn't) and when he got his Bluesky invite, Bob won't ever make the switch permanently. As much as he hates the chuds, he needs them around for his dopamine fix. How is he going to fire off a dozen smugly condescending tweets if there's nobody to react to? He already made this threat once in the wake of the election and didn't go through with it. I'll be generous and give it a month before he comes crawling back, assuming he's not still ragetweeting tomorrow.
