As an electrical engineer that has been contracted out to work for Solar City, Tesla, and SpaceX, I honestly have a piss poor opinion of those companies and I'm honestly amazed how overvalued his various companies are.
But none of that is really unique to Musk. There are plenty of shitty companies that inexplicably are worth a lot on paper.

Is it possible Musk only means the username, not the handle? Handles are easier to change, but it's not much more difficult to change the username itself. I hate to agree with Bob (oh boy do I), but changing handles for things like jokes, seasonal gimmicks, or to promote some upcoming event are all very common.

I believe that Musk wants verified people to post only under their names. Some Blue Checks have a normal internet username and never use their actual name on the profile and I don't think he likes that. I'm not exactly sure what he's going to do for people like Bob or Vaush or whatever where their username/streaming name is basically their public persona, nobody knows who Bob Chipman is, they know the genocidal fascist as MovieBob. Like, this will include actors and music people too! Lady Gaga isn't her name!

It really wouldn't shock me if he did spend money on a checkmark to make himself look more important. I remember in the past there being evidence that he really splurged on things when he first started making a little bit of money from his "career" so to speak.
I've theorized that he spent quite a bit of money on things thinking that he was finally making it and would only continue to climb up from there on out. Only to then stagnate and was now put in a financial hole.

Kathy Griffin made a whole bunch of tweets as "Elon Musk" not just one, other Blue Check faggots were also doing this (here's one I chronicled in Jake's thread) for totally unclear reasons other than someone said to do it and they all thought that sounded like a brilliant idea. (Also, many of these faggots like to throw shit all over the walls when they "leave" websites because they're stupid.) A few got away with it because they switched back. This has been harshly cracked down on by Twitter for like a decade now. But they're all running around claiming Musk can't handle jokes when this has always been what Twitter does for impersonation. The "parody" disclaimer has always been the only way they won't kill an account immediately for this. Bob has gotten multiple accounts killed for this and most of those were obviously parodies because they called him fat and stupid in the usernames and profiles.
