I rewatched it recently and it does have a lot of charm, BUT it is so very obviously an attempt to do LotR through a SW lens I'm surprised there aren't entire libraries of books on the topic. (If you know the original draft of the SW script and some of what Lucas changed - it's even MORE obvious). If you're one of those super lit nerds that love to analyze that kind of stuff, I'd recommend giving it a watch and having fun with it.

Hell, he once said middle Americans upset about losing their jobs were just mad they didn't have enough busy work.
