It astounds me that Bob could even think there's even the possibility of a thing such as a "good" Death Star. Besides being retarded and really showing how this fat diabetic really does believe in "no bad tactics, only bad targets," I also think it shows that one of our most common criticisms of him - that he has the mentality and morality of Saturday Morning Cartoons - is also incorrect. Because like Bobby, I too grew up watching those simplistic 30 minute toy commercials where it was never more complicated than "the good guys are good, and the bad guys are bad." However, I distinctly remember that one of the things that made it where "the good guys are good" is that there were things that the good guys would never stoop too, even if it would make their fight with the bad guys easier, precisely because the lesson always was "good guys don't do that."

I think he's coming from the angle of just wanting the spectacle of Death Stars fighting but it's not really much better.

I'm not attempting to brag here, but I was never bullied when I was a kid, so I don't really have any first-hand experience to draw on. That said, if you're still seething about being teased or picked on, even beat up regularly, thirty years later, you need to get some fucking perspective. Yeah, maybe the bully in question was not the best person to you at the time, but there's a pretty good chance they grew out of it as they grew up. Maybe they didn't go and track down every one of their targets and apologize for their behavior, but really, it's just not healthy to continue to dwell on those sorts of things. It does paint a clearer picture of why Bob is the way that he is, unable to let go of grudges at all and constantly stewing in bitter hatred and resentment. No wonder he looks at least a decade older than he actually is.

I wonder if he's been obsessively following his former bullies on Facebook or the like, waiting for a moment just like the one he's described, all so he can have a tiny modicum of smug self-satisfaction that they got what they deserved. I don't care what self-deprecating statements he makes, he legitimately believes himself to be a good person when he pulls shit like this (and everything else abhorrent on his Twitter feed).

You know what I also figured out? Sometimes I was a dipshit who really did earn that bullying. Hell remembering some of my actions back then - I would have picked on me too. Maybe once or twice it was undeserved.

But I grew up. So did the people who picked on me. And you know what we did when the high school reunion rolled around? We let it go and shook hands and talked about life. They probably don't remember it - and as cringe as I could be back then, it's a mercy for me they don't.

The rudderless MCU after Endgame has been a favorite target of on-line critics. These three are hardly the only ones who chew on it; we can only speculate why Bob chooses to pick on them. Sour grape is definitly part of it; all three are infinitely more charismatic than Bob, enjoy a much larger viewership, and have careers outside Youtube. Indeed their success prompts Bob to announce that Youtube viewer numbers don't matter. MauLer favors putting out extremely long videos, similar to what Bob himself did in his tearing down of Batman vs. Superman. In one of his videos, MauLer likened Bob to Thanos, the villanin in Endgame.

Nerdrotic is associated with MauLer, and is particular outspoken about the woke agenda that companies like Disney forces upon their audience. Nerdotic also laughed at Bob's pathetic and futile attempt to get Memology 101 banned from Youtube (See Section 2.B4.1 and Thanks @Flexo).

The Critical Drinker also directly criticized Bob for his sociopathy, while sharing Nerdrotic's concern about wokeness in mainstream media. He is also critical about remakes, which is about the only thing that Disney is doing these days. For Bob's part, he dismisses Drinker as someone who just happens to have a webcam, conveniently forgetting that he himself, despite having made Youtube videos for 16 years, managed to have worse production values.

The fact that he so petulantly gatekeeps who is and is not a media critic is nothing short of hillarious. Yet more proof that this guy stopped maturing sometime around 2006 at the latest, before 'professional' media critics were supplanted by fatbeards on youtube. He's still clinging onto his outdated fantasy that media critics are above the unwashed masses, they exist as an organ of the Hollywood machine, not an organic outgrowth of popular sentiment. He spent his youth watching Roger Ebert and was immediately drawn to that career path. And I'd be willing to bet he still holds out belief that if he keeps grinding at it the powers that be will let him into the club, and he'll get his own show where he tells you what's good and what stinks. It seems very obvious from the way he speaks and the way that his videos are structured that sharing his unique perspective or entertaining the audience is a secondary objective, the primary objective has always been to educate the unwashed and save them from themselves. The average person cannot be trusted to make his own decisions, they must rely on organs such as Bob for the proper context. People recognize this, and it is for that very reason that the Drinker enjoys success while Bob languishes in the remnants of an unremarkable career that peaked in 2012.

The fact that his most notable lasting legacy is likely to be the consoomer meme fills me with such joy.

Also, I simply don't believe Bob's bullying was that extreme or unusual. Just the average amount of teasing and ugliness that a dorky loner experiences in school. Unless Bob suffered some kind of systemic abuse, severe beatings, or God-help-us molestations, I just don't think anything else justifies him still holding a grudge into his forties. And the reason I think nothing he went through was all that bad is that if it was, we'd be hearing a lot more specifics rather than vagueposting about how Vewy Vewy Picked On Wittle Bobby was.

Lots of nerds and geeks have an awful time in school. Most of us find other things to focus on in the intervening decades. Apparently Bob never did.
