Bob Chipman / Robert Lewis Chipman / MovieBob / Game OverThinker - "Coastal Elite Thinker" who wants conservatives, Christians and manual workers eradicated. Universally ignorant; cannot tell reality from sci-fi. Sore loser with short fuse. Odious Disney shill. Tranny chaser and general creep. Fat and diabetic.

But I'm with @Koby_Fish that he can't resist that virtue signal and won't risk being branded as a Elon-bro.
Bobby has been retweeting nutters who say they'll block everyone who pays Musk for the checkmark.

I know there's a lot of weird shit on the internet but I seriously can't fathom that Twitter does anything but lose Bob money. I refuse to believe there are people who see his Twitter content and say "aw shit, I need to check out this guys movie reviews on YouTube!"
Bobby has more sycophants than we imagine; human nature is indeed a mystery.

What does he think is the placeholder to hide anything here? The person literally said "cute little white girl." :story:

Can you imagine actually looking at Tesla's stock price graph before you got obsessed with what Musk is doing with Twitter? Or are you going to claim the effects are traveling back in time, Kurt/Bob?

1. Cuck out and pay Musk $8 a month
2. Sperg out and finally leave twitter
3. Cope and seethe aka gorge on McDonalds and cheap booze
4. An Hero
"Cope and seethe" will likely be the popular answer to this question. Not surprisingly, "cope and seethe" also happens to be my answer to this same question.

Of those listed, here are the scandals (no quotation marks because they're genuine) that actually should have been looked at more aggressively since 2015:
  • The knockout game (assault and battery on innocent civilians)
  • Führer Hillary's E-mails (she destroyed government property)
  • Benghazi
  • Hunter's laptop (which, had it been properly reported, might have resulted in a 17% vote swing from Biden to Trump)
  • Big tech censoreship (see Hunter's laptop among countless other stories)
  • Caravans (an invasion of foreign nationals)
  • Critical Race Theory™ (which, as I mentioned in my previous post, it little more than a racist manifesto)
  • Voter fraud (but only when Democrats lose because of it)

Greenwald is verifiably correct here. Remember during the height of the COVID-19 situation and how Leftist news outlets had C-19 death counter on screen at all times when Trump was in office? Remember how those counters disappeared not long Fuckwit in Chief Biden too office? Has anyone who isn't braindead zombie questions how many of those deaths were actually caused specifically by C-19 (standalaone disease) and not with C-19 (in conjunction with other illnesses)?

What I'm reading here from Moviebob, LookForwardShow, and glomar_l is that we should believe that election interference is only acceptable when it results in Democrats winning.

Bob doesn't care about anything but Muh Holy Soopeeryah Fyootchah ™️ and how to achieve it, and that means gassing the MAGAnaiseghoulen. In minecraft of course. He's like that woman that stated that she didn't care how many women Bill Clinton raped, as long as he kept hotdog abortions legal.

I think option #1 is already off the table, given that Bob retweeted some Ontario-occupying "Democrat Abroad" that declared anyone following them that has a blue checkmark after the new checkmark system is rolled out, will be blocked. So not only will Bob not get a new blue checkmark, it's likely he'll block anyone who gets one, just like Mr. Fuck (Doug) Ford has decreed. It's about as nonsensical as Bob's hatred of "Snyder Cultists" and his insistence that they're all MAGAnaiseghoulen Right Wing CHUD Barrow Wight Trash, somehow.
I fully believe he'll do the first option, since he is so desperate to be seen as relevant that losing that stupid check mark and being shadowbanned effectively would be too much for him.

Non-zero chance he'd do a flip given how he only survives by vicarious success and being able to hurl abuse and genocide threats at the ghosts in his head too.
Number 1 without a doubt, Robert is gonna cuck for that checkmark hard.

And when called out on it, he is gonna give the same excuse on why he is non-stop sperging on twitter after the evil overlord Musk took it over:

"IT IS MAH JAAAAAHHHB!"

Even if whenever he talks about movies or promotes his work is but a drop in the bucket amidst the non-stop barking about Elon Musk.

Twitter could have bought over my baby eating satanic nazis, and Robert would still be posting there as long as he would have yeat a small thread of relevancy and following.

This what Robert really cares:

First he'll log off and vent his rage on nearest McDonalds.
Then he'll log back in, sperg, and officially "leave" twitter.
Finally he'll come back when no one is looking, begrudgingly pick up the checkmark and spam "you're not a person" whenever someone points it out.

I think this is lowkey one of the funniest Bob moments in a while. He's terrified of the fact that manga/anime fans are even harder about gatekeeping people who've never actually engaged with the original work. You can pull that off with capeshit because who cares and nobody will bother to call you out on it except turbo-autists. Hell, you can get away with it when talking about actual books to a degree. Manga and anime though? Yeah, he'll never hear the end of it if he fucks up and says "Joey" is his favorite JoJo character or anything like that.

It's a Netflix adaptation, so it's going to be woke and suck (but I repeat myself), but Bob will be obligated to defend it. I predict another 2 and half star review (unless they mess it up so bad even wokists find it offensive).

Just the other day he was pretending to not understand a picture of anime and manga dominating US capeshit. Now we know why.

To be fair, a lot of those statistics on manga are kinda cherrypicked by weebs and the gap isn't as massive as clickbait makes it out to be. You might hear people talking about One Piece or something but how many of them are actually primarily reading it through Viz rather than fan scanlations? Not that manga doesn't do well but how it's usually talked about online isn't completely accurate. They've also been shrinking compared to their heights in previous decades and face a lot of familiar sounding issues when you actually dig into it. You do have more people pointing out webtoon being bigger than either though.

But regardless, still funny that Bob's that insecure about his "I gotta be in the know" shtick. I don't know why since push come to shove, he'll just fall back on his usual "canon doesn't matter" and then pretend like everyone else is crazy. I'm not sure if it's more important to him that he fools others with the illusion or fools himself.

I love how Bob complains about having to potentially read the "thousands" of background material for manga, even though its well established that manga tends to actually have a beginning and end and be linear in the presentation. Unlike western comics that meander forever. have tons of crossovers, and get rebooted often.

But who are we kidding, he is going to read the wiki and pretend to have read it. Same as it ever was.

I expect Bob to just stay in his lane and ignore "manga based" media. It's not like there is a big chance that the next Netflix Live Action Anime is going to pay any more attention to the source material than the last one did. Netflix sees manga/anime live action remakes as a cheap way to get name recognition and then tells it's writers to do whatever they feel like. Also, how big of a success would one of these live action adaptations have to be for him to pay attention to it?

Why does Sherlock Holmes, a world-wide cultural icon, keep appearing in Japanese media? Truly a mystery only Bob can solve.

Anyway, this is my area of expertise, so there's a huge amount of stuff Bob is ignorant of that I can mention in disorganized mess. For example, Little Women being hugely influential in Japan even before the Showa period as reading for both children and adults, since it was seen as an example of Western family life that large part of urban middle class aspired to.
Then there's a ton of translation of Maurice Leblanc and ACD's books that were published before the war. Hell, there was apparently a mid 1930s Japanese edition of ACD's collected works. As for Oz, the first translation was in 1951 and then in 1960. So, if we take post-war period to mean occupation period, it came out exactly once. If we take post-war period in literature that's usually assumed to end with Mishima's suicide, Bob's statement has more weight, but it still doesn't fit with the chronology he presents. The first Oz translation was volume 30 of a series of famous foreign stories for children, so claiming that the Oz series (really only the first book) was a primary source for Westernization in schools is laughable.
In the post-war period, foreign settings were used, since the authors could depict events that would be thought unseemly if they happened to Japanese characters, like open romance in comics. (Not in literature, by the 1960s, readers of girls' magazines were complaining there was too much sex in them.)
And he's probably completely unaware that most of the English translations of children's books were done by women, since the gender segregated pre-war schools taught primarily French and German as scientific languages to boys and English as easy language to girls, so women were generally more proficient in English than men in the post-war period. Plus since it was children's book, they were seen as inherently trivial and suitable for women.

Bob acting like the Anime/Manga industry owes anything to the west at this point, like some sort of debt, is honestly hilarious. They pull charecters and tropes from things like Alice in Wonderland because they like them and they're free game copyright wise. Last time I checked, the west has been referencing anime way more than the other way around. You can't meet a zoomer at this point that hasn't heard of Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, or Yugioh. Now ask them who Squirrel Girl is and the issue she first appeared in. I'll wait.

Today I learned that Ebola isn't real. Most of these things are just things that people bitched about, how was the 2016 Ghostbusters fake? Or is it a fake scandal that it was shit? Or that Solyndra walked off with millions of tax payer dollars?
Strong moderation makes platforms worse, but safe for white women who have never before received pushback on the dumb shit that comes out of their mouths. Verification has been proven to be about status, stop bitching about losing your blue check. Twitter is successful because it provides a dopamine hit when you get likes and retweets. Turns out that anonymous validation is addicting.

As for the manga conversation, Manga does well in the west, because kids watch anime, and that makes them want to pick up the books. It was like in the 90's when you had Batman, Spiderman and X-Men all having popular cartoons. It increased readership of the comics. It made me read them. You could also pick up comics at your local 7-11 at the time, unlike now when you have to descend into the hive of the unwashed that is your local comics store. Manga can be bought at local bookstores, hell I see it at Wal-Mart and local drugstores.

Stuff like this is why I have to take Moviebob in small doses. You can say a perfectly sensible thing that anyone in their right mind will take for granted as common sense, back it up with numbers and sources Bob would otherwise blindly trust, write an entire essay reasoning out your position in simple language a toddler could grasp... and he'll just flat-out deny reality. No counter-argument, no reasoning, no sources of his own, just some made-up bullshit about how you're wrong because you're a bad person. Glenn Greenwald could say, "The sky sure is blue today," and Bob would find some way to argue against him. He's more childish than an actual child.

For most of us, well I am unfortunately guilty, but for most of us it isn't really our history.
Unless you've personally owned slaves, you're not guilty of shit, brother. Please don't buy into that sins of the father bullshit Bob and his insane teenage senpais want you to believe.

One Piece should be Bobby's poison: irrelevant, monkey cheese humor and oodles of cheesecake.
Yes, Bob, that is wrong, in so many ways:

1. You should want Netflix to stop churning out Westernized live-action anime adaptations because they're unwatchable garbage nobody asked for, made by people who have no respect for the source material or the fans.

2. Everyone knows you aren't going to read anything but a Wikipedia article about My Hero Academia or any other manga, just like you don't read the Western comics you endlessly pontificate about. If you did bother to read Western comics or manga, you'd know even the longest manga hasn't got shit on the average American superhero comic. My Hero Academia has around 375 chapters right now, so probably like 20-30 volumes, which sounds like a lot... but it's all one story in one continuity. There aren't elseworlds storylines, crossover events, universe reboots, soft resets, new characters taking over for legacy characters, 50+ years of backlog, or any of the other the shit that can make Western comics hard to approach.

3. What in god's name do you mean you don't have time to read manga? You spend 8 to 12 hours a day on Twitter. You have all the time in the world.
