It's too bad people weren't pushed over the edge back when it was happening to Kiwi Farms. That was a far more eye opening event, to me. That was some 3 Days of the Condor shit. I told people (some of whom are now upset over Pikamee), "Whether you like Kiwi Farms or not, this should scare you." I'd get replies, "but I heard Kiwi Farms was an evil place. I hope it does get shut down." Now these same people are upset they won't have Pikamee to watch anymore, and well... I don't even feel like saying "I hate to say I told you so."

Oh, it's true, going after Pikamee was like kicking a puppy. Look, I love traditional animation, I think that even bad examples have more soul than much digital work, but I've long had to accept that it's never going to make a comeback. The process is expensive and slow, and that doesn't fly in the marketplace of today. Traditional animators really don't exist in appreciable numbers anymore, and the few that are still around aren't teaching because nobody cares to learn how to do it. This includes hand-drawn rotoscoping like Bakshi was famous for.
Again, a copy of a copy built with modern materials really doesn't disprove the point as much as you think it does, Bobby.
