Logging on to YouTube today, I saw a community post that Gary of Nerdrotic just hit 750k subs. Last April, I made a post in the old thread, when Bob was having a go at him, and Gary was at about 435k (I don't know the exact number, I just said Gary had 305k more than Bob). Meaning that Gary averaged about 24k new subs a month. So, I got curious, and checked Bob's social blade, just to see what the trends were.

Bob had, as of last September (highest I recall seeing), 132k subs, and is currently showing at 130k if I go to his page right now. If you check his social blade, the sub growth chart is interesting. Its literally a flat line, and then will occasionally do these dramatic spikes down and he loses about 1k subs. Granted, if you check the future predictions tab, they still seem to think Bob's channel is growing, so I'm not entirely sure how that's all calculated. Assuming Bob is lucky and their math is right, they predict that in 5 years he may crack 140k. Bob's channel seems to be in a weird dead zone, and as far as I can tell has been this way for years.

I mean, its not hard to see why its stagnant. Bob's most recent videos are about 4 hours of rambling horse shit about the DCEU/Snyderverse, and retro reviews for such widely beloved films like Halloween II (the second Halloween II, from 2009) and the GI Joe films.

His views on his more popular releases top out around 45k which is about 1/3 of his subcount. However, his retro reviews seem to cap around 7k, and plenty of his newer vids are only at about 20k. To go back to comparing to Gary (entirely because the idea that Mr. Serious Film Critic is losing to a former felon and addict will always be hilarious to me.) Gary's newer videos tend to get around 520k or so on average, meaning a little over 2/3s of his subcount, but higher performing videos tend to shoot up past the subcount into the millions. Even the livestreams Gary does weekly with Mauler and HeelvsBabyface tend to get 160k views, though I'll confess I have no idea how long of the 3 hours need to be watched to count as a view.

If I just type in Bob's name in YouTube (from Tor, not logging in to avoid cookies.) you barely have to scroll down to see that after Bob's newest videos, some of the videos that the Youtube algorithm picks next are Efap's videos making fun of him, and someone called TheGreaseWizard who has a video calling Bob the worst Twitter user ever.

You can't blame Socialblade for this one, that's a YouTube change from years ago. People were livestreaming the live subscriber losses whenever a channel was going through drama, so to "stop harassment," they changed how subscribers are displayed, and you now only see the three most significant digits, with everything else rounded down to zero. In Bob's case, you only see 130k subs, but his actual number could be anywhere from 130,000 to 130,999. It's only when he dips below the 130k mark that you'll see an update, but that could take a long time as it's a very slow bleed, unlike Jim losing 1k subs every single week when he posts a video.

However, I'm very curious what will happen when Google starts its purge of abandoned accounts later this year. It should be very informative as to how many channels' subscription numbers are propped up by dead accounts. Bob's is clearly one of these channels, and I hope the drop is severe.

Fun fact! In my attempt to see just how much I hate myself I skimmed through his two new additions to his Marthabox bullshit and I am convinced he hammered it all out in an afternoon.
