The funny thing about all this is that he's taking a right wing talking point (which, because he's an idiot, he thinks right wingers are only using to refer to fellow right wingers) which is "you are the carbon they want to reduce" and saying "Yes! Good! Let's kill a lot of people!"

Of course what right wingers mean when they say "you are the carbon they want to reduce" should be followed up with "if you are not flying off to Davos in your private jet to party with the super rich." Of course, Bob will be fine, since I'm sure he does that every year.
Bob and liberals obsession with carbon is silly. It's a gas, the building block of life, a important part of steel, and a fuel source. Having LESS of it is actually kind of bad. Also his genocidal tendencies will never not be funny.

If terrorism is home grown, it's because you're planting the seeds and watering them regularly. These "white supremacist" groups are, quite literally, the one group not attacking white men.

Musk finds another way to make the paid blue tick more compelling. Incidentally this new policy will be a godsend to the likes of Rhys McKinnon, who get cPTSD shaky-hands when he sees "transphobia".

Whether Winston Smith likes it or not, Marxism is one important strain of thought in Modernity (defined as the belief in the inexorable, teleological progress of humanity in all aspects -- science, art, economics, politics, ethics, etc), while "Rainbow Marxism" is strictly Postmodern la-la land. Incidentally Twitter thinks the "Navigating Differences" quote is 18+ and I have to log in to see that. Perhaps they are right.
Robert, there's a reason the EFAP guys compare you to neo-Nazis: it's because you spew bile like this. The guys on /pol/ could learn a thing or two about hate from you.

Wether they'll rebuild it or not is debatable, though knowing our little territory, the money will end up not getting spent on it or take decades. Bob getting mad over it is just funny when other telescopes exist

I'm more interested in knowing why Bob knows that Kegel exercises are used by women to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles, given that he's never been near a woman's vagina in his life (except when he was born, I guess. I like to think he erupted via spontaneous generation from some sewer sludge and was then adopted by the Chipmans. Sort of like the story of Superman if he was a sludge monster.).

Ah ok. If you want to say he was asking the same questions as Authority - but coming to different answers - yeah I'd definitely agree with that.

Morrison does love to go big with everything he does and it was a fantastic JLA run where even those after him kept up with the general grand scale... usually. Towards the end of the run they had things like "Pain of the Gods" which was literally just the league's members dealing with trauma. And every once in awhile they would have oddities like the issue where Wonder Woman imagined what it would be like to be with Batman.

If you were to say "that's an Authority style story" I would think of things like Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme arc in 1985 - the heroes are taking a very active role in the world if not appointing themselves as new leaders. Stories where the heroes are subservient to man, not over them I consider the exact opposite of Authority style. But now that I know your definitions I see your point. What you bring up here I would address more as "power scaling" - namely appointing threats equal or challenging to the heroes' abilities. The Superman/Batman run of '03 was also much like this style with the duo taking on really big threats. (I mean Darkseid gets involved in their second arc.)
Indeed, I really liked some of the actual stories that came after more than some of Morrison's own stuff. The storyline where they get sent to the past had a lot of great touches including subtle subversions of those typical stories, and Batman having a backup Justice League that would activate is one of those so obvious nobody ever thought of it before ideas. Normally that whole thing would have been a mess but a lot of those post-Morrison writers found a way to never let the over-the-top events overplay the character stuff. Having to deal with the White Martians again and again was important to showing the Justice League just doesn't do genocide because they're Bad Aliens, etc.

I wouldn't really characterize The Authority as over humans, when they took over the planet it was a culmination of multiple Wildstorm-wide events and plots that I won't spoil other to say that there was nobody else to act and it ultimately became an absolute folly for them. And that came years into it, before it The Authority was a strike-team of miserable people trying to stop world-threatening crises. The Authority were not really all that different from Stormwatch that had existed for a long time prior other than they didn't operate with official backing, were more social outcasts and had no real leadership structure, in-universe The Authority is one of two groups formed out of a cataclysmic event for Stormwatch that itself had been building for some time. Where The Authority differed from prior Wildstorm teams is that they almost always decided the ends justified the means while remaining the heroes of their own comic. This was arguably one of the major themes across Wildstorm after the period around 1996-ish where all the old writers and artists and stuff were dumped to have the entire universe refashioned in a higher level direction after Alan Moore did it for Wildcats. The later awesome Wildcats stuff is almost entirely an extended digression on the actual consequences of heroes including for the heroes themselves.

I'd actually think of Squadron Supreme fitting the theme whatever we want to call it because they're basically all miserable too. By the time The Authority came about in Wildstorm it was transitioning into basically an universe of heroes that all hated and were miserable being heroes and not in the typical "Batman is grumpy" way. The Mark of the Beast/World's End storyline was a rather appropriate place to go because the Wildstorm world really was an endless horrible place that didn't pretend it wasn't (as Ultimate Marvel also sorta became aside from Ultimate Spider-Man), you couldn't really disagree with The High (and earlier the visiting Captain Atom) concluding it needed to just be wiped out lol

Now, all that aside, I'm going to fill up the rest of this post to the character count max by pasting in my years old posts from the previous Bob thread about DC-Snyder movies...

Carter was such a disaster for the Democrats they didn't even want him hence why Kennedy challenged him for the nomination in 1980. I've heard Carter had more animosity for Kennedy than he ever did Reagan.

& Reagan beat Carter with 11 words.

Are you better off today than you were four years ago?
"Are you better off than you were 8 years ago?" is probably how Pierre Pollievre is going to beat Trudeau. It's a similar problem, because Pierre Elliot Trudeau (the senior Trudeau) did the same dumb shit that Carter did, and Justin of the Good Hair is also doing the same dumb shit as Daddy Dearest.

Bob is so uneducated and science-deficient, he actually thinks that people dying takes them out of the carbon cycle. Like, once they die, they'll stop contributing carbon?

I have bad news for you, Bob. Dead humans don't remove carbon from the atmosphere. They contribute to it. By, you know, this little thing called Decomposition.
Isn't that radio-telescope Bob is blaming "right wingers" for being deprecated and falling apart located in Panama? What even is his complaint here?

In fact that damage looks more like it happened at once, not something that slowly collapsed over time, like the aftermath of a big storm. Is he complaining it hasn't been fixed fast enough then?

Bob's impotent rage at everything and everyone burns so strongly he literally can't even take a moment to organize his thoughts into what he will be mad about.
Like, who the fuck does Bob think is in charge of fixing shit over there?! Who's been in power in USA the past few years? Hmmmmmm?

@vexorian

Damn Bob. This is actually powerful, you know. You are damn right. We don't need a Superman, we don't need a Batman movie, we don't need Star Wars, we don't need Marvel, or Dragonball. We don't really need any of these "franchises". We would only need them if someone has a story to tell with them. But if apparently no one with access to those IPs does have a real story to tell, then so be it.
Vexorian is a Bolivian who's some kind of programmer. There doesn't seem to be much if anything more interesting beyond that, granted I didn't care to look that hard. I wanna blame some of this on ESL but holy hell you can't blame a lack of another language understanding on the inability to understand basic story making. I would love to know exactly what are the real stories Vex is talking about. Was Super Mario Bros one of those stories? Would the story of the Super Mario Bros movie be worth anything without it's IP? Spoilers: No, it wouldn't. I can't find any place where he did talk about his opinions SMB but I did find one tweet talking about movies he liked
1686748841324.png
Ohhhhhh he's one of them niggas.

I went through to see if I could find a place where Bob says something akin to what Vex is saying and he does say it more or less at the end. He says things like "What came of it in the end? Most of the films were garbage or forgettable" and he says this hoping you forget about the lampshade he hung on the MCU phase 2 movies eight hours back. He claims that "multiple careers and a whole studio apparatus has been destroyed" because of the DCEU but does not name a single name and completely ignores that James Gunn is now helming it. He claims that the effect of the DCEU on "the rest of film and publishing industries are PROFOUND" and never says what that is or how. What he does say is that he always knew this was a wreck, ignore his initial praise of BvS before he jumped on the hate train,
This was an unmitigated disaster and for what? There isn't even a new lesson to learn here that everyone involved shouldn't have already known from a dozen other failures in film or business history. Going back over years of these episodes and observations all I can see is myself struggling and failing to find new ways to describe what's happening when it's all so clear but the news churn demanded everyone pretend like something new was happening and it wasn't. I wanted to come away from this looking back feeling purged, cleansed, cleaned out, something instead I feel emptied. I think I hope that I put out something entertaining in my work amid all this but the DCEU era itself almost none of this will have mattered. it's like when I tell people in their 20s that yeah no really there were seven Police Academy movies and they just asked me to explain why.
and that none of this actually matters, well the DCEU doesn't matter.
I'm rooting for James Gunn's whole thing to succeed because I Like him and a lot of the people involved but I just can't come in at the end of another one of these things and act like it's so important that we always have new Superman movies and new Batman movies and whatever because no it's not! Only if someone thinks there's a story worth telling about Superman or Batman is there a reason to have them otherwise it's just brand management and Marketing sales keeping an IP in rotation because it needs to be and that's how we got into this mess in the first place.
Brand management? IP rotation? Marketing sales? You don't fucking say? I would love to know what the story was that was so important that it needed to be told in No Way Home, Black Widow, Ragnarok. What greater truth was presented in Eternals? Why should I got out to Target and purchase the thing with two butts from Shang-Chi? What was the story in Super Mario Bros that made it a 10 out of 10? They cannot answer it because this entire Marthabox series is a lazy excuse, to quote one troon Josh Loomis, to do their own "infantile fanboy outrage". It is the crying wojack wearing the smug wojack mask while the Nordic gamer watches the Snyder cut for the 11th time.

I will give Bob some credit. At two hours and nineteen seconds in he goes full mask off and admits that this was all a ploy to get money. Good on him to put it in between two of his old videos where people are not likely to see it. Very savvy.
the clip starts about 20 seconds early to give that much needed context.

You can't be "counter-revolutionary" without a revolution to act against, but please tell me: what is the revolution that The Flash is supposed to be against and that Spiderverse is part of?
I have no interest in seeing the Flash, because Ezra Miller is one of the most obnoxious actors I have ever seen on the big screen. The CGI in the trailer was so bad that when me and my brother saw it, we were laughing at it in the theater, it looked so cheesy.

Regarding saying that Spiderverse is anti-conservative, which I mean isn't a hard point to make seeing as you see stuff like Miles sitting right in front of the "camera" with a BLM sticker prominently on his backpack. It also has some of the most unintentionally conservative messaging I've ever seen.

The movie shows that without his strong, police officer father, not only is Miles not the hero he is in his home universe, he straight up became the Prowler. Who if he's anything like his Uncle was, means that the only thing separating Miles from being a hitman for a mob boss, is his hard working father living instead of his criminal uncle. In fact, in that alternate timeline, his mother is still alive, which means that apparently single mom Rio wasn't able to prevent her child from turning to a life of crime. Nailed it.

I have never felt more mixed on a film than I did on Spiderverse 2. I like the stuff with the familial relationships, Gwen & her dad, Miles & his family. The art for the most part was even better than the first, though sometimes it got a bit much and it hurt my eyes. That may just be because I'm a decrepit old man. But there was also stuff I hated, like the fact that almost every serious situation had to have a bunch of jokes to ruin the tension.

Spiderwoman fighting while pregnant, and Peter dragging his infant child made me irate. One of Spiderman's defining qualities is his responsibility, and no adult should ever be dragging children into fucking super hero combat. At first I could almost excuse Spiderwoman, because when we first see her, she seems to be back up for an extreme situation, and that the multi dimensional team is said to be small. Okay, maybe the situation is just so desperate that its a worthwhile risk to protect the multiverse. However, we later learn the multi dimensional team is actually massive, a whole sky scraper worth of them, so it turns out that she's actually just an irresponsible lunatic. I also for the life of me cannot believe that there is a whole army of Spidermen that all agreed with the whole idea of some people inevitably need to die for the sake of the multiverse. Peter Parker and his derivatives are some of the characters I think would be the least likely to pull shit like that. For Spiderman 2099, his story kind of shows how he could get to that point, but everyone else? No.

It also hilariously shows an alternate New York that's primarily Indian. And what two facts does the movie establish? Even in alternate New York, Indian's will still make everything into an over populated hell hole, and even when they're seemingly a world power, they still got their ass beat by the Brits.

Though as I said, the messaging is still very liberal. For example, when fighting a heavily pregnant woman, Miles does his best to provide her with a free, safe, legal, and rare abortion by blasting her into a truck going about 80 mph.

I had some immediate reactions to this ghastly image:

She's being considered because she wrote and directed "Women Talking". I also think that he is calling Margot Robbie an auteur, which...is a little bit of a stretch, despite the fact that I do like the actress...except when she's in capeshit. I wouldn't call Sarah Polley an Auteur either, she's your basic bitch, from a show biz family, turned feminist and now makes movies that people call "important" but no one watches.
