Automation is the only thing that kept American manufacturing competitive. It never reduced the total number of factory jobs available or drove wages down.. outsourcing did that, coupled with retarded trade agreements where we decided to fund our government with taxes instead of tariffs.

In manufacturing, automation saw the average factory workers’ job description go from “hit thing with hammer repetitively” to “push button on machine that hits things with hammer.”

The people who really fear automation are the Hollywood writers who can’t or won’t put any effort into their work to distinguish it from artificial word vomit anyways
