Funny how Drinker had a video out just the other day that's tangentially related to this discussion, specifically about how pre-sales for The Marvels are looking pretty bad at the moment, and its box office projections aren't stellar. In it, he made the point that Disney's attempts to chase a female audience with the MCU haven't done well because they're not giving them what they actually want. By and large, women don't much enjoy girlbosses like Captain Resting Bitchface, they want characters that actually act like women. And for those holding up Barbie as an example of feminist movies having an audience, Barbie was successful because it embraced the girliness of a doll that nearly every woman in America has played with at least once in her life, despite its obvious and blatant feminist messaging.

As always, I have no problem with women superheroes, but nobody enjoys an obnoxious girlboss whose only weakness is people telling her she isn't good enough. Similarly, shoving out productions that have women just because it means more women is dumb, yet another example of the design-by-committee approach of the MCU. Bob sees no problem with this because he'll happily eat up anything his overlords shit out.

I still find it insane that Disney gobbled up Marvel and Lucasfilm so they'd have access to two of the biggest franchises for boys, only to decide they needed to retool them entirely to appeal to girls instead. Now Star Wars is basically dead and Marvel is on the downswing, and likely nothing is going to reverse that.

I'd give Bob credit for this observation, but it's so obvious that thousands of others have likely had the same thought, so I won't.

For context: There was a delay between when the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy came out and the versions for the other systems came out. I was also expecting the troons to chimp out when the Switch version came out and started making big money again. So let's check that release date:
