Imagine being a janny for MatPat. Getting a job at McDonald's would be less disgraceful.
Not to mention not having a steady gig there for most of this past year, as I so
tirelessly documented. Bob's only had 8 writing credits for Film Theory in the past year, with a six-month gap between his last two. If there's nothing Marvel to talk about, Bob isn't really called on that much.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong and he has writing credits on some of Matrick's other channels. After all, I recall him linking some Food Theory videos before, although that could be just because he's fat. I'm going to regret this, but I'm going to do a deep dive into all three remaining channels and see if Bob has any more credits to his name. I am only going to start in January 2021 for each, as that's the first time I saw him credited on Film Theory.
- Game Theory: Zilch. Bob has never written for a single episode of Mat's flagship channel, not even for a Mario video.
- Food Theory: 11 in total (one in 2021, six in 2022, four in 2023). Turns out Bob isn't just linking these because he's fat, he is actually credited as a writer. The topics of the videos he's credited on, in order, are: McDonaldland (lol average size meal), milk, chips (because he's a Chipman, I guess?), Coke, Rainforest Cafe, school lunch, bees, blue raspberry, what mammoth tastes like, food fights, and eating a horse (lol fat). It's worth noting that Bob has not had a credit on a video on this channel in nearly six months.
- Style Theory: A single video on Hulk's pants, because it's Marvel-related. Thank God this channel is only a year old so I didn't have anywhere near as many videos to trawl. That video was from nine months ago.
So, barring a single exception, Bob has done zero writing for MatPat in about half a year now. But sure, tell us all about your very successful career of glomming onto a more successful YouTuber.
That did get me curious about how much Bobbo is making from this. While I can't be privy to the details, I did find
ZipRecruiter estimating that the average pay for YouTube script writers is about $24/hour. Seeing as how Bob is never the sole credit, obviously he's not doing the full workload, and I doubt most of what he writes gets put in anyway because it's unintelligible garbage. That said, if he were paid for ten hours of work for each video, that would come out to about $250 a video, or $12,500 over the past three years, or about $4000 a year. A fair bonus if added to his Patreon, but still not great money. And as a further reminder, Bob has only had a single credit over the past six months, and much fewer credits this year as a whole.
I'd also like to point out this tweet:

Like all Bobby's nemeses, Alan Ng sees right through his fat-clogged heart.

Indeed their monetization scheme would not be half as effective if not for people like Bobby.
Acting like he's so above outrage baiting while being so very proud of the work he does for a content creator who has made a living off of making up random clickbait shit is classic Bob hypocrisy.
