I may need to check out of this thread for a bit. I'm starting to get that Bob overdose that occasionally pops up. There's only so much of this shit I can tolerate: an ugly as fuck ogre who makes fun of what other people look like; an absolute idiot who chortles over how stupid everyone else is; a man who's accomplished nothing and pissed away every opportunity he's ever been given sneering over what failures the people he hates are; a powerless oaf fantasizing about the "not jail" he'd hand out to his enemies. Man, fuck this guy. I wish he'd get off Twitter and do something interesting instead of just bloviate 22 hours a day.

I took a bit of a break myself due to the holidays and family visiting (and partially because of the DDoS attacks and domain hopping making it a tad inconvenient). I decided it was more important to enjoy my time with friends and family than to comment on the idiocy of lolcows. They'll always be here, doing the same retarded shit they always do, while the moments spent with loved ones creating memories at a special time of year are sometimes fleeting. I was reminded of the time Blowy Zoe and the anti-GG crew spent their Christmas making fun of gamers instead of with family that loved them, and I knew that wasn't something I wanted to replicate personally.
But agreed on the monotony. Bob's thread really is only as big as it is due to the dedicated work of
@Positron, without whose relentless dedication to documenting his constant deluge of vile idiocy we wouldn't have nearly as much stuff to comment on. That said, it sure can be overwhelming, and it would be nice if something else would shake up the Bobverse from time to time. We'll keep the light on for you.

People who are concerned that Trump supporters will react to probably illegal measures to keep him off the ballot with violence are just reaching the logical conclusion: if you deny every single option for legal response to your bullshit, people will end up resorting to more drastic measures. Remember, we were warned that as soon as they started taking down Confederate monuments, leftists wouldn't stop there and would demand other "problematic" statues be removed. And now that's already begun with
the planned removal of a statue of William Penn from Welcome Park in Philadelphia, presumably because despite all the work he did with Native Americans, he was actually a badwrong person because he also owned slaves. It won't stop until they've Year Zero'd the entire country.
As someone else who grew up in the South, I too have been somewhat confused by the vitriol against the Confederacy in recent years. Yeah, I always found those "South will rise again" types kinda cringey, but they were harmless. But now we have lefties hurling such invective at Southerners that would make even the staunchest anti-Confederates during Reconstruction blush. It's insane.

Spider-verse 2 was a fine movie, even if the audio mixing was bizarre in my theater and it occasionally devolved into audio-visual nightmare. I haven't seen The Boy and the Heron yet, but it's probably on par with the rest of Miyazaki's work (hot take, I think Takahata is the much better Ghibli director). I've also heard a lot of good about Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, though I also have yet to get around to seeing it. Either way, I'm glad the winner wasn't anything that the Rat shat out this year.
Also, for a group that likes to mock "white fragility," these people really seem to get incredibly upset when their black movies don't win awards. Remember how much they screamed when Anthony Hopkins got the Best Actor Oscar over Chadwick Boseman? Remember how they slung death threats at the critic that ruined Get Out's 100% RT score?

Not that I'm saying these claims of nearly 1:1 plagiarism are not possible, but if this is truly the case, then you should be able to just upload the original images with the metadata intact, and then someone can recreate them and confirm. For all I know, you did an img2img render of a screencap from the movie and used it to smear Midjourney.

This is just an aside, so I'm putting it in its own section. Drinker put out a video recently about Disney/Lucasfilm stepping on a bunch of rakes again with the awful decision to put a documentary filmmaker in charge of the next Star Wars movie:
What struck me most about this is how level-headed his critique of this was. While he did play the other clips about "making men uncomfortable" that have been making the rounds, he also defended her by saying that these were in relation to her documentary work about Pakistani honor killings, and that Pakistani men were the ones she was making uncomfortable. He also urged his audience to make sure that their critiques come from an honest place and to make sure they got the full picture before flying off the handle. He still said that her position as director really doesn't make sense, as did her belief that we totally needed a female Star Wars director because it's Current Year+9, arguing that men and women alike have made both good and bad Star Wars content before.
I couldn't help but think about Bob and his own personal grudges with the chuds and the subhumanoids. He'll willingly believe anything bad about the people he hates, even if it's wholly made up; I recall that he retweeted the post from Mark Ruffalo with AI images of Trump surrounded by young women on a plane to Epstein Island, and it surely wasn't because he knew it was fake. As long as it fits his worldview, he'll accept it, no questions asked.
And of course, it should go without saying: Bob will never watch this video and understand that Drinker is a pretty level-headed individual that just wants to watch good movies that aren't inundated with hamfisted political whinging. Even when their tastes often line up (both liked Godzilla Minus One and both disliked Rebel Moon, for instance), Bob is too blinded by jealousy and hatred, believing that Drinker is just a trendchaser and not an enlightened critic like himself. Never mind that one of them is doing objectively better in every respect than the other, Bob is the real genius!
