I don't know what this person means by "triangulation". I usually understand that term as a poor communication style in which person A rely on a third party to relay her message to person B.
It's weird that Bob would repost this, since as far as I know
triangulation refers to a political tactic favored by the Clintons.
In this particular context, it's where, let's say, little Johnny misbehaves. If Johnny has a Narcissistic Cluster B Clusterfuck of a parent, said parent will say, "If you do that again, I'm going to put Rover down/give Rover away (despite Rover being perfectly healthy)" or "I'll destroy your Computer (or other beloved objects)". Or maybe little Johnny didn't actually misbehave, but doesn't want to do a bad thing the parent wants them to do (like be complicit in the abuse of another person), so the parent will threaten harm on someone or something little Johnny Loves, or say something like "You'll never get to see Grandma ever again."
The person Bob is retwatting is using Triangulation as a term mostly incorrectly. I'm assuming that they're characterizing the concept of telling people "we have to do
x first before we do
y" as "Triangulation". I also notice they're terrible with language just as Bob is- "It just is [abuse]" is just empty-headed sloganeering. So it's a little confusing.
The Political Concept of Triangulation is similar to what the person Bob's retwatting is talking about, but not exactly (as shown by Clinton tactics which I'm sure Bob heartily approved of).
"I mean we *lost* that war and we made 3 whole "RAMBOs" is one of the more nonsensical and stroked out things I think I've seen him write.
I think Bob was trying to get across the entire concept that RAMBO (and First Blood) made a Vietnam War Veteran a Hero (and even though Rambo 3 is in Taliban-Land, John Rambo is still a Vietnam vet).
Bob doesn't even comprehend that the war being a "loss" made the story AND the character more compelling!
First Blood was about some asshole sheriff trying to nail Rambo for Vagrancy, and Rambo using techniques he learned in the army to evade capture. If I remember Rambo (First Blood Part 2) correctly, he was going in there to get some POWs out. In neither of these instances is the movie trying to portray Vietnam as a "present" (in the era of the movie) conflict. I would call Vietnam a "loss" technically - I mean, the US just gave up, so yeah it's a loss, but it didn't HAVE to be. Bob's entire concept here is flawed. One doesn't have to WIN a war, to make a movie about something, or several movies about a thing or person. Sometimes the fallout from a failed war is more interesting for a story than from a successful one. Bob doesn't understand storytelling, obviously, but he sure does love to read the Blue Curtains. Hell, his entire statement about Rambo is an exercise in Blue Curtainism.
Bob hates First Person Shooters because he considers them too masculine. I not only think he's never played Duke Nukem 3D, I think he'd like to see it banned.
I am convinced to this day that feminism convinced Bob at an early age that if he stopped being "too masculine" that women would be lined up around the block for him.
Anita Sarkeesian won't give him the time of day, let alone touch his peepee.
