I would say Robert became some sort of lolcow comfort food. Sure it ain't much to talk about, but at least you know you can get some laughs at the dumbass and his ramblings.
It's funny, I had literally this exact same thought while musing on other people's posts on the matter, down to calling it "comfort food" and everything. Ironic in that it's not really all that comforting and either leaves me baffled or annoyed, but it's always there because Bob literally cannot shut the fuck up for one day. No matter what happens, Bob will still be there to give his opinion on any and everything.

Richard Dawkins is baffled why the British Government celebrates Ramadan and not Easter. According to Theologically-educated Bobby, Richard Dawkins is an atheist who believes in Christianity.
Anyone familiar with Dawkins would know Dawkins has always spoken with approval how Christianity has enriched the cultural life of the west, having given us incredible art, music and architecture. He merely wonders if a widespread veneration of Science / Scientism could have been more beneficial to the arts. If being a Thinker means being blind to the glory of St Mark's Basilica, or deaf to the bliss of Thomas Tallis's 40-part motet, let me unThink.
This reminds me of a conversation I had recently with my best friend. He's been an atheist for most of his life (non-euphoric, thankfully), though he was raised in a Christian church in his early years. He has nothing against religion, he just finds it hard to have faith in something he can't see. He's also very much anti-Islam because he rightly sees it as a religion incompatible with modern society, one that hasn't evolved past a medieval line of thought. As he's put it, some cultures are indeed superior to others, and he's tired of pretending otherwise.
Recently he said something that really made me think. Paraphrasing, he said, "Y'know, if someone on the street asked me if I were Christian, I'd say no. But if a Muslim had a gun to my head and asked me if I were Christian, honestly, I think I'd say yes. I wonder what that says about me." That keeps coming to mind ever since he said it, the idea that, even when he'd have nothing to lose by denying belief, a belief he's never expressed in day-to-day life, he'd still choose to admit to it.
Dawkins, I believe, has had similar conclusions as my friend. Christianity as a religion is one that has allowed centuries of debate to allow it to evolve, with a core central tenet of "be good to your fellow man and serve each other." Islam, meanwhile, has fundamentally banned any dissent, and its central tenet is "conquer the nonbelievers and trample them underfoot." One of these is fundamentally decent, and the other is not conducive to a cohesive society.
Bob is once again spouting his reductive nonsense and believing himself a genius.

I'll be fair to Bob, this is a remarkably sad line in context, from Apollo 13. The astronauts on board were forced to abandon the moon landing in order to use the lunar lander as a lifeboat, orbiting the Moon and returning to Earth. It must have been an incredible disappointment to have had all that training, to have spent years of your life working towards the ultimate goal of walking on another world, to have come
this close to achieving it, even being able to see it up close as you fly by...only to have it remain just out of grasp, knowing full well that you'll probably never have another opportunity. Sure enough, Apollo only lasted a couple more years, and it will have taken over fifty years since then for us to make a return to the Moon, assuming Artemis 2 actually happens next year.
It is amusing that Bob jumps to this as his choice, though, given what we know of his history.

Where's the hyperbole? TLJ was indeed nothing more than Rian Johnson getting high on postmodernism and jacking himself off at how smart he is, while simultaneously insulting fans for enjoying Star Wars and shitting on everything they like about it. He had no intention of making a movie, he just wanted to huff his own farts and get praised by idiots who think that "subverting expectations" made it good.
I generally go through my life without remembering TLJ exists, so I don't go off about it every day or anything. But there is
nothing performative about my hatred of that movie, or Disney Star Wars in general, even though I'm basically apathetic to the whole thing at this point and don't care anymore.
