Boston, with its many colleges and theater community, is probably one of the easiest places to do this except for LA, where people have moved there to be in movies and would be climbing over each other for the opportunity.

Yes, this is easier said that done, and you still need to pony up some cash to get this thing made, but if you really wanted to make a movie, Bob, you would have done it by now. And you have a name people know, and could probably get some funding for a flick. If you gave me ten grand, I could have something on Tubi within six months, maybe a year. This fella was, like me, too old for the platform, being even older than I am, and was a notorious creep. All of his stories featured first person female protagonists, most of them were lesbians, and all of his stories included at least one cringe-inducing sex scene. He was an absolutely godawful writer, but you couldn't tell him that. He literally said things like "I'm a master of the craft" and "I am a writing god compared to everyone else on this site." His stuff is so terrible I've considered doing a writeup on him, but sadly he's probably too obscure. Definitely a personal lolcow, though.

Anyway, the reason this fella claimed such expertise was because he'd been writing since he was 12, and now that he was in his 40s he claimed 30 years of experience ... even though he had clearly learned nothing about writing in those 30 years and reacted to any and all criticism like pure sodium in water. By dint of his age he was better than anyone on the site, up to and including actual published authors who dropped in to lend some guidance to the kids. Frequently he'd dismiss them as people he'd never heard of, generally because his knowledge of actual literature didn't extend much past Star Trek, some manga, and I think the Kushiel's Dart series.

This is Bob. No real knowledge or expertise, no skills, no insight, no real experience. There's even a parallel in Bob's videos being just as bad now as they were when he started making them, what, sixteen years ago? All he has to fall back on is his age: the grey eminence, the grizzled elder, the guy who's seen it all. Obviously it's not true ... but how often has Bob deluded himself?
