I've not played Metroid: Other M myself, so I won't comment on the game's quality. However, I am aware that Other M is (to the best of my knowledge) the only Metroid game to feature a vocal Samus Aran. That led me to a weird idea about a Metroid game with a humorous tone in which Miss Aran ocasionally comments about the series' various tropes implemented throughout the campaign. I'd call it Metroid: Serious Samus--screaming headless kamikaze bombers not included.

One final bit of irony: One of the complaints about modern incarnations of Call of Duty is that they are woke. Bob, of course, will still hate all FPSs. I have a feeling part of the reason for that is simply that he is not very good at videogames.

As I said in the AVGN thread, it is blatantly obvious that Olson went after Rolfe with the intention to dunk on him probably out of jealousy and a petty vendetta for Rolfe being a more successful Internet personality than he is. As he started to research his video however, he found that the reasons why everyone is picking on Rolfe just as easily applies to him and thus he had to take a different approach.

Keeping that thought in mind, Olson's vid almost comes across as more of a coping session for himself. He literally started off the video talking about how Rolfe reminds him a lot of himself and how they are very similar. It comes across that he used Rolfe more as the framework to go after things he hates like online criticism and not living up to your potential.

All I have to say is that Olson, you and Rolfe are nothing alike. Rolfe for his issues actually reached a height of internet popularity and impact that few will. He has created lots of memorable content that entertained people and will be remembered by many. He has a wife and kids. Most of his detractors are just psycopathic trolls looking to dunk on someone, and the only genuine criticism of him doesn't frame him as being malicious: his content is lacking and he seems to be at a middle aged crossroads of not knowing where to go next in his life.

You are on the other hand were never popular, your content sucks, you're lazy, people have genuine reasons to hate you and you are 100% a fuckup in life. As a kid, I was actually disappointed in Metroid Prime because I thought it was going to be more action heavy. Later on I appreciated it for what it was, just an FPS version of the old games, but what I expected was fighting aliens non stop and maybe a puzzle here and there. Because Bob never played the games, he's still under the impression that that's what they are. He doesn't believe there's a difference between COD and MP, because he never played either and assumes they're exactly the same.

And don't worry about never playing Other M, Bob didn't either. For all his sucking off of the Wii, he never spent money on any games for it aside from three: Mario All Stars 25th Anniversary, Wii Sports (Which came with it) and I think the third might have been Mario Kart but I could be wrong. He based his opinion entirely on screenshots, gameplay videos, forum posts and other critics' pieces on it.

Even before the Wendigoon thing, In Praise of Shadows sucked. He's like a lot of lefty cultural critics, very impressed with himself and how superior he is to other people. I forget which video of his I saw, maybe Basket Case, maybe more than one. Even though watching video essays on horror movies when I'm doing something boring is something I do, I dropped him after a few videos. As far as I can remember it wasn't because of leftists blather, it was just because I didn't think he was good at it.

What worse wound could they inflict on him than something like Lindsay Ellis publicly humiliating him because he was being a weird creep?

Tank his reputation among 'the people who matter'?

This I'll admit I'm thin on the data so I'll defer to you, @Ralph but it seems like Lindsay's thing hit Bob more "from the right" but not near as much from his left so it didn't sting for him as much as we may want.

That one person who tweeted, "what the hell did I do to get followed by movieBob?" probably wounded him worse than Lindsay.

As long as there's the chance he could be ousted from the group he has identified himself with and calls "people who matter" there's always something worse they could do to him.

The quick run down of who Wendigoon is, his name is Isaiah, he is a youtuber that does long form video essays on a variety of topics, he is very well liked, and he is an unabashed Christian. Isaiah holds himself with a level of Christian grace that I do not know if I have the physical, mental, or spiritual capacity to ever achieve. Why this faggot decided to go after someone who is two blocks south of Fred Rogers I believe is out of pure jealousy due to Isaiah's success and the fact that Shadows will never get that Wendussy. To get to the issue at hand, I have to share this response video from another guy because In Praise of Shadows went DFE after being bullied for being such a retard.
