I don't care if a game is good, I'll play it, but I just don't have much hope for it. I played Horizon Zero Dawn, and I didn't play the sequel, not because they made Aloy gay and look like she got stung by a bunch of bees, but because the story in the first was pants on head retarded.

I liked Ghosts of Sushi I: The Phantom Menace or whatever it was called, but I thought the plot was pretty bland, I just liked running around feudal Japan hacking Mongols to bits with a katana.

The game literally starts with a Japanese soldier riding straight up to the enemy lines, asking (in Japanese) the Mongols to send him their best warrior, who then walks up, and sets him on fire.

Which was hilarious.

But the game had an incredibly unsubtle, "WOW WARRIOR CODES HINDER YOU IN WARFARE, DO YOU GET IT?" and proceeded to beat you over the head with that until you develop brain damage. I cannot imagine that a game doing that but with a female protag in current year +9 or whatever it is now is going to do better, but I very much suspect it might be worse.

Yes and no. This goes a way back. The show Battle Fever J was created alongside with Marvel which could be seen as the first American/Japanese collaboration. Then, in 1987 the TV series Night Flight redubbed Kagaku Sentai Dynaman into a parody series.

As far as Power Rangers and Super Sentai, it depends. Sometimes it is direct translated adaptations like Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and Power Rangers Samurai. Other times, the adapations are wildly different. For example, one of the reasons why many people did not like Power Rangers Turbo is because it was trying to tell an epic story, however the footage that was provided to them was a sillier parody show, Gekisou Sentai Carranger. Recently, Power Rangers had attempted to move away from the footage from the Super Sentai series so they can do their own thing.

I can understand the first guy's confusion as it seems Bob may have actually used quotation marks appropriately for Goddamned once. Something that I do see is Bob's claim that Mello tagged Bob in. There is nowhere that Mello tagged, meaning he added his @ to the tweets. What I think Bob means is that when Mello replied to the first tranny he didn't go out of his way to untag Bob from the tweet chain. If you don't use twitter, when you reply to someone it'll look like this.

Your response will automatically show up as a response to everyone in the tweet chain prior. If you want to remove people from the chain you have to click on the names to the right of "Replying to" and that brings up a new window.

You can't untag the person you're directly replying to but you can remove all others by clicking the blue check mark.
