Since this hit close to home, I'm going to comment my old man was a Steel Worker and a member of the Steel Workers of America Union. Which he joined after getting his job which he got after getting out of the military in the early 60's the Union did a lot for him allowing him to achieve a living wage which gave him a comfortable life. Never went to college but thanks to the Union and G.I. Loan he had full healthcare and bought a house had two cars for him and his wife and all the other little luxuries of being middle class we always had food in the house and never went hungry.

But twenty years later when he got injured and wanted to retire and get workman's comp the Union didn't lift a finger to help instead, they were interested in getting a job where he sat on his ass and collected a check and more importantly paid his dues. He went out got his own lawyer sued the Mill for retirement and workman's comp and got it. He lived a comfortable life for the next twenty years as his mobility worsened thanked to the injuries he got in the mill until he could collect his social security which added to his income in his final years.

If not for him suing he would have been Shit Out of Luck when the Mill closed a few years after he retired while his health was declining spending the next two decades working shitty jobs until he could collect Social Security just like his mill buddies got stuck doing.

As for the Union it's doing great except the Union no longer has many actual Steel Workers because those jobs shipped south to non-union states and now in it the "Steel Workers of America" is not mostly Barista's and Office Staff at various companies. So Blobby can fuck off.

Unions where great back many decades ago they helped build the America Dream of being Middle Class, but eventually many of them became as self-serving as the corporations they fight where the workers don't matter only the Union because they can replace the workers.

In order for the U.S. Congress in order to legally abolish the Electoral College, would require that no fewer than 290 Representatives, 67 Senators, and 38 state governments approve of such a measure. Currently, the Democrats hold 212 House seats, 48 Senate seats, and 23 state governorships--short of the required numbers by 78, 19, and 15, respectively. (Of course, the anti-democratic--and flagrantly anti-Constitutional--National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is still a possiblity, in which the national populat vote winner receives several states' electoral vote en masse when the collective electoral vote tally reaches 270+.)
