I really don't see how that argument is supposed to make sense. "He stuck with his defunct, terrible wife, so he must be terrible."... really?
He could have stayed with Barb so Chris isn't stuck with a crazy old crow. Most likely, he was just desperate for someone to share his last few years with.
Point in case: I don't see how that behaviour makes him any better or worse. It's just the way it was.
What I'm saying is that if she really was an unfaithful, evil woman who caused Bob to be estranged from his children and abused their son you'd think that if he were such a good guy he would get a clue and leave her, or at least get her some help. His inaction in and of itself is bad if she truly is as abusive as she is made out to be.
So she hit Snyder with her car. This shows to me she is unstable and insane. If Bob is sane and a good guy he should have gotten his son (Chris) out of the care of a woman who is a potential murderess. Seems to me to be very irresponsible of him to allow his child to continue to be under the care of this woman. Once again, inaction can often be worse than action.
From my knowledge he just stuck around and kind of ignored them both unless they got too obnoxious and then he stepped in and yelled a little. Barb sounds mentally ill. Bob sounds lazy and self absorbed.
But this is conjecture since we really don't know much about anyone except Christine, and 90% of what we get is through his lens.
Also, have read the CWCki. I wouldn't say I'm a chris expert but I'm definitely not a Chris novice, so that's why I'm wondering if there was some hard, solid evidence I somehow missed that's pointing to Bob being the vastly, vastly better parent.
I still think he's just got a fan base because he was so much fun when he interacted with the trolls and not because he was actually any better of a parent than Barb.
And on that note, the fact he egged the trolls on by communicating with them rather than just ignoring them (which would eventually cause trolling to cease since we all know the point is the pursuit of content) is pretty bad parenting to me. Far as I know Barb did not interact with trolls, which to me is the better choice as a parent.
