In nearly 44 years of life, I have never met a meaner or more reprehensible Republican cur than Bob Chandler. I hope that you will e-mail me when he dies so that I can celebrate.

I don't know what's more stupid about Cole's statement: the fact that his eternal animosity boils down in large part to Bob being a Republican, or that he thought it would appropriate to tell his autistic brother that he will celebrate when said autistic brother's father dies.

I doubt it. But it wouldn't have been the kind of white lie where you don't tell the affected person because you'll break his heart, instead it's the Chrissy situation where he forgets all about it 1D6+2 minutes later.

There's probably a lot more to it than that. There usually is.

I think that Cole probably sees himself as being the unwanted child despite his success. (possibly actually because of his success making barb not see him as needing of care and being a film critic as being opposed to what bob wanted him to do)
