I started a thread on the other forum about Bob's older children, which I suspect that he was abusive to and that's why they don't talk to him.

So imagine how surprised Bob must have been when they received Chris' autism diagnosis and now had to deal with a special needs child. Now all of his poor treatment of his older children came back to bite him in the behind and Barb forced him to spoil Chris. That's karma!

There is a lot of misunderstanding about the nature of and the word karma. Karma is action and is the main word used in a few modern languages of India to indicate verbs. This is something one just has to look up in any dictionary of Hindustani to figure out. I don't think Bob did anything that made him have a son like Chris. I think each person is responsible for their own actions and hence karma. I blame some of the New Age for this misunderstanding, not you.

Well, we have no idea how he treated his other children, but one thing's sure: he was a MUCH better father to them than to CWC, because they both earned doctorates (one in optometry and the other in mathematics). He and the mother of his children may not have been abusive but he may have been very pushy (ever hear of a tiger mother?) and when they were old enough to take care of themselves, they left and never looked back.

He may have been abusive, and Barb was with Cole, although Cole became sort of normal (if being an arrogant hipster movie critic is what you consider normal).

Well karma is just a word anyway. There aren't metaphysical laws at play here. It's just funny that the bad mom and dad ended up having to deal with their creation.

As far as his other kids go, what was their mother like? Perhaps she was the main influence on them.

Come to think of it, do we know anything about their mother?

For that matter what DO we know definitively about Bob before he met Barb? We can speculate what was going on at the height of trolling, when the most content was coming in and Bob had a few appearances (audio wise or visual wise) but his personal life before Chris is more of a mystery.

He certainly didn't seem close with his other kids. Maybe they exchanged letters or calls but none of them ever seemed to visit.

I don't think his daughter did.

Cole is one of those assholes who pepper their speech with large and archaic words to sound smart.

Oh yes; I definitely know the type. That and obnoxious hipster idiots who will slap you with all sorts of names and labels in an argument when they know they can't win. They think their vocabularies will provide a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Ughh.. I agree. I hate these kind of people. Thinking that you can add some BRAND NEW VOCABULARIES (probably using Thesaurus or something else) to your sentence to make you smart.

I always just laugh in their face and walk away.
