That movie was a pure boomer power fantasy, him standing up to the pack of negroes as the wigger is getting nigged on, pointing a gun at a gang banger. The ethnic group he began to associate with being a tolerable group, I would say it would be unrealistic if they were jeets but knowing boomers he may have found their culture captivating.

The clear and open contempt and hatred of his children and grandchildren is also an insightful look into how boomers view their own young, written to be downright caricatures of scumbags.
Can I ask are you defining boomer by "mindset" or the defined age range (which is broadly defined as 1945 - 1964)?

The director and lead Clint Eastwood was born in 1930, making him part of the silent generation and the screenwriter Nick Schenk was born in 1965 making him part of Gen X. I personally don't buy into defining it by mindset and I don't believe it's fair to do so either.

Similarly to how grown-ass men can create gen alpha-oriented brainrot, a piece of media can be a boomer power fantasy by appealing to sensibilities associated with boomers, even if the lead actor and screenwriter are not boomers (and the latter only by a hair).

As for what he means by the mindset, this is made clear by the examples given in the post.

Do you think members of the silent generation may also have the same mindset? Why do you assume someone born in 1942 is significantly different to someone born in 1946?

Isn't that literally the plot to Gran Torino? Boomer treats his actual family like shit and leaves everything to some asian who did a bunch of unpaid work for him.
Yes, it's a frighteningly common story for anyone whose parents considered themselves Good People™. Where, you may understand a Good Person™ to be whoever fucks over their family the hardest while supporting deadbeats/foreigners, who by merit of being poor are more deserving. Narcissistic people love to adopt a messiah complex whenever they distribute charity. In fact, I dare say that messiah complex is largely responsible for most charity induced disasters in the world. Don't want your neighborhood swarming in hobos? Fuck you, my church MUST feed the poor because we're Good People™ who take our religion seriously. Those illegals over there? Yeah, we're arranging housing, clothing, and food for them because we're Good People™. That African nation whose agricultural sector lacks modernization? Well, because we're such Good People™, we're going to just send free food and other means of support until the local economy collapses. It sure is great being a Good Person™. You can do anything you want with horrific second-order effects that harm others as long as your intentions were good. It's even better when your actions were inspired by propaganda. Shut up zoomer, it's time to go attend the No Kings rally. We're fighting Nazis!!!! We're such Good People™.

To answer these questions, I will provide an additional example: California.

There are many stereotypes about California. They are known for being very progressive. They are known for being very rich. They are known for being very obnoxious.

You may say, "not everyone from California is like that" or "I know people who are all of these things, and they are nowhere near California" or even "California's borders are arbitrary to begin with, and there's no reason for them to be substantially different from Nevada*." These are all reasonable. However, much like California, boomers are associated with these traits, and as such, referring to something as 'boomer' is a shorthand for something or someone that exhibits these traits, whether or not they were literally created by those born from approximately 1945 to 1964. As for why those dates were chosen in particular (other than the start, which would naturally be the result of soldiers returning to their wives after serving in World War II), I do not know, as I was neither there nor am I a scholar of the era.

If you have further questions on the subject, you may DM me, as it's best not to shit up the thread further by going on an autistic tangent.

* = of course, the precise landscape created by laws, local events and history etc will indeed alter culture, so this is an oversimplification. from a boomer perspective, it is understandable that a child born after a war would be different from those born during a war.
