@Bubble Ba'ath (can't quote), for some reason all of the boomers at my place of employment are absolutely fascinated by AI slop. Without fail, every one of the older folk with a phone will be gobsmacked by some shitty TikTok/reel/whatever. I know younger people are generally more tech savvy but boomers can't seriously believe they're all real, right? Are they voice blind to the AI speech in every one of them? It makes sense when some old grandma gets scammed by an AI video of the president asking for her to spot him 20 bucks but it's like an almost universal thing with Boomers to just believe everything they see and hear without an ounce of skepticism.

My boomer aunt posted a listicle of like 12 easter table settings that were blatant AI. Captioned it "Amazed by all of the creativity!"

Are boomers dumb because of all the leaded gasoline burned and released into the atmosphere during their lifetimes?

Lead paint and lead in plumbing fixtures too.

However, man made things have used lots of lead in them going back to the Romans.

What made the boomers different is no definable mass of humans ever accumulated so much uncontested power as to be able to do every insane thing that came into their rotten minds (ie, demolish their own families, demolish institutions, load governments with more debt dollars than dollars in existence, etc) and not only do it but do it without any real negative consequences for themselves because they can put it all on everyone else.

Lead plumbing is actually not that bad and arguably fine, most of what got the romans was the lead sweetened wine which was far worse. Anyways, burning tetraethyl lead is also far worse than plumbing.

I think about this a lot. It’s my current opinion that age exposes the real damage done by lead poisoning.

I went on a kick talking to old people a while ago. I mean like OLD old, pre Boomer old people, seeking them out and talking to them. What shocked me was how much sharper they were than boomers 20+ years younger.

This generation of olds is declining much more steeply and rapidly than previous olds. It’s alarming.

I would say its the fact that boomers were raised by TV they in many cases almost never have time to stop and think.
When I look at older generations they're sharper because many of them ate and live healthy.
It turns out that if you dont have a heart attack and keep your body healthy til 95 you tend to be pretty sharp.

Its why when boomers screech "respect your elders" it rings hollow for later generations. Elders once had something to offer because they survived for such a long time in difficult situations, so clearly they have something to teach. Boomers had the most pampered, easy-mode upbringing and adulthood. My father in law a bumbling fucking moron, and yet he makes 6 figures because he's been at his job for forever. Despite this money he still somehow manages to be almost always out of cash at any given time. If he had been born into any other generation he would have died long ago. Theres no great challenge they overcame and therefore no reason to give a shit about what they say.

People forget just how much drugs -> recreational, pills then heavy drugs cocaine + booze and then +endless pharma pills that the boomers have been on their whole lives. And then anti-depressants on top of all that.

Another big one is aspartame and Diet food, anti-fat diets, frankenfood industry etc. that I swear destroyed whatever brain function and limited non-lower-animal consciousness they were still able to muster. Everything they ingest is designed or intended by them or the gigacorps they love to destroy their brain in some way.

I remember seniors and boomer's parents from being a kid and teenager into adult. They were not fond of boomers or anything they had to say. Which boomers have convinced everyone is totally normal for association between generations but I'm like no nigger these people who created the boomers really did not like boomers in the way the rest of the entire people in existence now currently hate boomers.

Archive / 2025 Data: Nearly Two-Thirds of Boomer Homeowners Have No Plans to Sell

Interesting survey that gives you insight into the mind of the boomer:

- Boomers are never gonna sell their home unless they have a major health issue or the home becomes too difficult to maintain.

- 44% of boomers would consider themselves a failure if they didn’t own a home, which is why you see that boomers view owning a home as their greatest financial achievement.

- Boomers expect six figure profits if they sell their home. Reality is going to strike them in the face upon the next round of reappraisals when their home’s value is going to be cut by 35% in 2026 because we are in a buyer’s market for residential real estate.

- Boomers are okay with their children or grandchildren moving further away from them if it mean they could afford a home. This is the foreshadow to the grand finale.

- Only 1 in 4 boomers worry about burdening their family with their homes upon their death. Yes, because the burden is clearing up the boomer’s disgusting home that they put carpet over hardwood floors. Reality though, the burden is that they have leveraged their home to shit and when it comes time to handle the property it will be in the red.

- Rising costs in community and maintenance worries boomers. Yes, because the boomer still has the same faux wooden wallpaper with dangerous adhesive, but refuse to replace it because the lotto is at 100 million.

This next one I have to quote directly from the article:

Almost three-quarters of boomers (73%) say they value stability in their community over affordability for younger generations to move in. Meanwhile, 59% of boomer homeowners would vote for a political candidate who prioritizes protecting home values, even if it meant fewer people could afford homes. That’s a stark difference from the 49% of boomer non-homeowners who feel the same.

Even if they’d like to keep their home values high, many boomers don’t seem interested in paying the taxes that go with those lofty valuations. Roughly two-thirds of boomers (67%) believe senior homeowners should be exempt from paying property taxes, even if that means younger home buyers have to pay more.

It’s further proof that the boomers wanted to live off their parent’s money, their children’s money, and now they want to apply their boomer economics to their grandchildren.

Boomers' views seem more complex in other cases. Although almost 2 in 3 boomers (65%) think the government needs to do more to help first-time home buyers, just 1 in 8 boomer homeowners (12%) say they care if staying in their home prevents younger people from entering the housing market.

Further proof that they feel no guilt or shame. Further proof that just like their kids, let Daddy Government fix it. Speaking of their kids:

IMG_8683.webp

Look at who they blame the most for the current housing situation. They HATE their children. Their children stole their youth, their freedom, their nostalgia, their money. That is how the Boomer views their children.

In the Boomer mindset their greatest achievement wasn’t having children. It wasn’t establishing a great family or paving the road for future generations. It was owning a fucking house. At times it’s hard to grasp with the concept of one single generation ruining two generations with their selfishness.

People meme on on the newer generations, but they seem frugal as hell as a reaction to the Millennials and Boomers.

They eat out a lot but some of them literally do not have a car, go on vacations or go drinking/smoke.

It’s like after WWII someone pulled the stopper out and the “social contract” just spiraled down. Silent gen parents drank from morning to night, so their boomer kids had to invent these sick coping mechanisms. Their kids grow up to be Gen X, the helicopter parents. Then millennials hand their kids an iPad, giving birth to new horrors.

Greatest and Silents were just as exposed to leaded gasoline, radiation and other toxic chemicals. Boomers are dumb because so many of them are narcissistic and fried from drugs.

Fat 50 year olds berating male employees as a power move
Not saying this is every Boomer I've dealt with during jobs I've had, what pushed me to quit a Lowe's cashiering job I was already floundering at last year was a Boomer cussed me out because company policy required him to show an ID for a discount. He did not have it on him, and he cursed me out as the woman he was with (I guess his wife) tried to quietly calm him down and explain it's likely nationwide policy, she paid for what they needed and apologized to me on behalf of him before they both left.

Like I'm just a cog in the machine, I don't make the rules. Doesn't help that big box retail stores by and large just give the employees minimal "training" by showing them videos for two days which don't teach them anything, then stick them on the floor wherever they need a body and expect them to sink or swim; to add insult to injury, it doesn't help either when managers breathe down employees' necks telling them to push credit apps the latter knows nothing about. Arrogant Boomer customers who are given free rein to shout at minimum wage employees who hate their job don't help, especially over a minor inconvenience.

Leaded gas is from the 1920's, hardly anyone left alive from before that era anymore.
or the home becomes too difficult to maintain.
There's a house in a prime location that's literally falling apart and the boomer there refuses to sell. And that's just one of many.

Since when?

Fucking hell...

Did you just skip genX? the ikea catalog generation?

And zoomers as consoomer af, problem is most of them are broke but they burn all their money on gatcha shit, fast fashion and shitty electronics. Like the fuck you need 20 mechanical keyboards for? you spent HOW much on those shitty RGB lights?
Their kids grow up to be Gen X, the helicopter parents. Then millennials hand their kids an iPad
Late boomers were the helicopter parents, genX were the ipad parents, millennials hardly have any kids.

Knocking on doors or leaving flyers to shovel snow and wash windows are the sorts of things a 12 year old should be doing to make pocket money and learn how it all works. Not someone who is presumably an adult already (supposed to be) employed.

It's bizarre how they'll give people 25+ advice you'd give a middle schooler who lives in the suburbs.
